I said I wanted to find something for the fox to do, but I honestly couldn't think of anything she could help with—though she confidently declared herself the goodwill ambassador between Monster Town and the Empire. I believed that much. From a mascot's perspective, her ambassadorial image was certainly friendly enough. But aside from that, was there anything else she could do that would add value to her life... her demon life?
She had already fallen so low that she went to Avalon to fight a dog and came back after losing!
Of course, the fact that the dog was named Cerberus was also part of it—Ding Dang had apparently read that name in some Earth book and thought it sounded impressive, so she created a genuine mythological creature in her magical creature laboratory to guard her temple. I'd seen that dog before. Even lying down, it was taller than the front of a Harmony train, and curled into a ball, it was still four times the size of my Fox Immortal Lord. Ding Dang had designed it with three heads. Their functions differed somewhat from the ones in Earth mythology, but they were still formidable: the first head could breathe absolute zero and absolute heat, the second could devour space or create any supernatural substance Ding Dang had configured for it, and the third sang "Conquer" in Sichuan dialect—I honestly had no idea which nerve in Fox Sister's brain had failed to develop for her to pick a fight with that monster. Ding Dang might be a lousy god, and her creations might be bizarre, but she had still graduated with top marks in biological structure. Anything she made to guard a temple was not
