Hearing Vincent's startled cry, I immediately rushed over, only to find that he had pulled up something resembling a system log.

"What is this? A historical record?" I frowned. I had been involved in Imperial affairs for years now. I couldn't make sense of the professional sections of this sort of log, but the nontechnical descriptive content was easy enough to understand. It seemed to be a military deployment order, along with scattered commands from the interior of the Abyss Zone and operational records from the Sovereignty Nexus. Basically, it was a miscellaneous record. These odds and ends clearly weren't highly classified, or they wouldn't have been so simply gathered into one Database and cracked by Vincent so easily.

Vincent rapidly scanned through the data. He had clearly found some extremely important clues. "It records several conflicts erupting within the Abyss Zone, throwing military deployments into chaos for a time. There are also transit records for temporary frontline units, and they're equally chaotic. On top of that, there are orders that completely contradict each other before and after, yet they all came from the same issuing authority... All sorts of things that can't be explained. At the end, it also mentions several important reports being sent to the Sovereignty Nexus... Looks like the Sovereignty Nexus is hiding some kind of secret."

An explosion sounded in the distance, followed by the shrill screech of weapons fire and tearing metal. The scorpion soldiers had engaged another wave of fortress guards. I snapped out of my examination of the logs and looked toward the entrance to the Mainframe Room. "Copy these logs first. Then hurry up and take care of the fortress defense network."

"Yes, Commander!" Vincent nodded at once and returned to work.
