We recalled the Empire Fleet that had been constructing forward bases in other war zones, leaving only part of the main force behind to intercept the reinforcements the New Army had sent toward the "Quiet Core." When the regrouped Empire Fleet passed through the World Gate before us, we found ourselves facing mad enemies more stubborn than ever before.
Naval guns roared, and space shuddered. World-rending power was compressed into a battlefield with a radius of only a few astronomical units. Vast groups of warships exploded and shattered like expendable supplies, filling space with scorching metal debris and drifting clouds of high-energy matter. Under the New Army's fierce counterattack, the Imperial forces forcibly established a foothold, finally opening up the situation in this universe, but things did not look optimistic. This world's World Gate was entirely under New Army control. Though the Imperial forces had originally used a World Gate to transfer here, they had been disrupted midway and fallen into the Void. Only after a period of conventional travel had they managed to infiltrate this universe. Getting through the World Barrier had already taken considerable effort; gaining a foothold in the material world was even harder. Reinforcements from the rear were trying to catch up, but without a World Gate, entering the Enemy-Occupied Zone would not be easy.
Watching ripples constantly spread across the Combined Shield beneath the bombardment of transdimensional firepower, my sister looked worried. "It seems the enemy has reached their final stage. Are they really willing to risk everything just to hold us here?"
A large cloud of crystalline fragments floated beside her. They looked like nothing more than dust from shattered crystals, yet they formed a distinctly orderly array in the air. This was one of the mediums through which my sister cast curses, but
