At lunchtime, Lin Xue had just woken up from catching up on sleep. Miss drifted down from the second floor in a half-sleepwalking state, then began feeling around the table for her bowl and chopsticks with her eyes closed. The whole process was truly astonishing: first, her severe morning grogginess was astonishing; second, it was astonishing that she had reached such a realm of mooching meals at our house.
Miss had low blood pressure upon waking. Every time she woke up, she spent half an hour in a state of spiritual wandering. Naturally, I couldn't let such an opportunity pass, so I hurriedly picked up the Tomato and Egg Soup in front of Lin Xue and gulped it all down. Then I put the empty bowl back in front of her and watched Miss spoon air into her mouth, snickering away. The Pandora sisters were in Shadow City getting physical examinations or watching others get examined, so I was short two targets to tease at the dinner table. Lin Xue thoroughly satisfied my current sense of emptiness.
"Once she wakes up, you'd better pray for yourself."
Lilina, who had spent all morning going wild outside yet still returned punctually for lunch at noon, sat across from us on a huge stack of books. She muttered as she continued fishing for Ding Dang with raisins strung on a thin thread.
"What happened to your yoga?" I gave the little girl a sidelong look. "Didn't you say you joined a yoga training class and wouldn't be coming home for lunch?"
"Boring. That middle-aged woman even said This Pope was stiff and had poor circulation," Lilina huffed. "Then I demonstrated how to bend both arms in seven different directions at once. She should be receiving pure oxygen at Third Hospital by now."
