Several consecutive days of fine weather had completely driven away the last trace of winter's chill. Outside, one could already feel the rich warmth of spring. In this northern city, where spring always arrived later than elsewhere, weather like this only lasted for a few brief days each year. So on such a lovely day, even the most homebound shut-in would be willing to step outside and soak up some sun, disinfecting the back that was practically about to grow mold.
This enormous house of ours, somewhere between a villa and a warehouse, had originally been found for us by Lin Xue. Back then, the sudden increase in our household population had made the house my sister and I had always lived in far too cramped. Meanwhile, a certain Miss who loved taking things apart had accidentally broken a Hyperspace Core and nearly had to sell herself to pay off the debt—though, considering that girl's thick skin, that was probably nonsense.
So I took the opportunity to extort this house from her. And honestly, since it was Lin family property no matter how one looked at it, it really was in a great location. Apparently, Old Master Lin had initially intended to use it as a permanent local base for the Esper Team, so it was conveniently located without being noisy. We could even fence off a small yard in front of the house without worrying about occupying public green space. This little yard, completed last year, had become the perfect place for several lazybones in the household who did not want to go out to sun themselves.
Like Bubble, me, and various others.
Since there were several people in the house who were not suitable for appearing before ordinary people, Sandora had activated the yard's camouflage system as well.
