In this bizarre little town known as the "Condenser," one could spot many iconic symbols of the Old Empire with even a little attention. The walls of the shacks, riveted together from battered metal plates, were covered with records of their former purposes. Some were nameplates marked "xx Functional Area" and the like; some were numbers denoting military designations; others were blood-red triangular insignias. This town had undoubtedly been built from the wreckage left behind by the Destruction Legion.
The entire town stood atop a metal disk roughly half a kilometer in radius. Just as Gerrick had said, it was a condenser. Judging by the size of its cover, Sandora determined that it had likely been a component used on a specialized aircraft carrier. Many unusually uniform slopes surrounded the town, and at their ends stood a ring of equally level high ground. This "terrain" might have been caused by an energy impact that had struck from outside. Some weapon similar to the Star River Main Gun had destroyed the armor around this carrier's cooling unit, leaving a crater-like breach. The condenser beneath the armor had escaped destruction, though it still bore extensive traces of high-temperature melting. We soon found ripples of molten metal that had flowed across the east side of the plaza, confirming this deduction. Now, that crater-like hole in the armor had become a refuge for a group of scavengers.
Suigintou flew high into the air and surveyed the surroundings. She discovered that the overall terrain in this area sloped slightly to one side. Near the extremely distant horizon, the "ground" rose high like the ski-jump deck of an aircraft carrier. On the horizon in the opposite direction stood a nearly vertical cliff. At its edge, something resembling elevators could vaguely be seen moving rapidly up and
