Wes Erwin destroyed Soul Society and the other realms, then created an underworld before returning to the Marvel World. He exposed American secrets and fueled international upheaval, leaving the American President ready to consider nuclear war against Iran.

• Seraphim Kaido and the Dark Wizards invaded Soul Society, where the captains’ forces suffered heavy losses and Seraphim Zoro killed Retsu Unohana while Seraphim Hawkeye defeated Kenpachi Zaraki.
• Wes revealed himself as the invasion’s mastermind, killed Jushiro Ukitake and Shunsui Kyoraku, absorbed the Soul King’s Right Hand, and tore open a passage between Soul Society and Hueco Mundo.
• Wes overwhelmed Yamamoto, Yhwach, Aizen, Ichibei, and the other defenders, then reached the Soul King and devoured him, causing the realms to collapse.
• Wes built the Netherworld to receive the dead, returned to the Marvel World, and discovered that Spencer Quentin had allied with S.H.I.E.L.D. remnants to govern Seattle and prepare against him.

Wes and Mephisto set David against Heaven while Wes uncovered Heaven’s plans and rejected its offer of cooperation. After Coulson’s death, the Awakened declared independence, and Captain Marvel confronted Wes, drawing him out over the Pacific Ocean.

• The U.S. President authorized a nuclear strike against Iran, but the missile vanished as Iran’s forces attacked Israel and a whirlpool destroyed the American fleet.
• Tony Stark overcame his grief after Pepper told him she was pregnant, then helped negotiate an agreement between Iran and the United States.
• Wes and Mephisto arranged for David to wield the Black Death Sword, and David attacked Heaven, killing angels until Heaven’s hidden forces intervened.
• Jesus revealed Heaven’s plans to Wes and Mephisto, resurrected Heaven’s forces, and offered Wes cooperation, but Wes rejected the offer and returned to Earth.
• Coulson’s team vowed to investigate his death, while Henry posed as a former colleague and secretly sought the identity files Wes Erwin had taken.
• Wes recruited Vegapunk to study super-soldier technology and the Extremis virus, then failed to obtain Wakanda’s Heart-shaped herb from Black Panther.
