Within a residential estate on the outskirts of Yong City, a thin layer of snow lay piled atop the vermilion tiles, while blood even brighter and more glaring than the red tiles splattered both sides of the bluish stone walls, adding a heavy stench of blood to the fresh weather after the snowfall.
In the courtyard, an elderly man dressed as a wealthy gentleman sat in a leather chair brought over by servants. His hair stood on end in fury, red light flashed from his eyes, and his savage air was terrifying. As he watched the miserable scene before him, he ordered the servants to keep beating them with all their strength. Though he had once looked kindly and benevolent, he now resembled a vicious ghost, filling others with dread.
Not far in front of the wealthy gentleman lay a corpse that had smashed itself against the wall, as well as a graceful, voluptuous, elegant, and beautiful married woman.
The corpse appeared to be around twenty years old. Dressed like a scholar, he had refined and handsome features, but his head was now covered in blood. His eyes were wide open, filled with humiliation, fury, and despair. He had died with his eyes unclosed.
The beautiful woman gritted her teeth, her crimson lips nearly bleeding, fragrant sweat covering her forehead. Facing the clubs wielded by two broad-shouldered, thick-waisted servants behind her, the delicate woman refused to utter a sound even unto death, using her silence to declare her resolve.
To either side stood several trembling, flamboyantly dressed women. Though they were not as beautiful as the woman being punished, they still retained their charm. Watching her suffer, they felt the sorrow of a rabbit dying and a fox grieving, yet none dared plead for her.
