Ling Kongyu was in his thirties, of medium build, with both hands tucked into the sleeves of his black robes. He looked utterly ordinary, rather inconspicuous among the Xiantian Experts.
When Liu Yin called on him, he was momentarily dazed, but quickly recovered. He bowed to Liu Yin, stepped out from among the experts, and walked to the open ground.
"Senior Qi, I'll be relying on you."
Seeing that it was this man, Ding Hui relaxed, and the boulder in his heart finally fell to the ground. He turned and nodded to Qi Renhong.
Though the Divine Constable Gate of Shang Commandery was not particularly powerful, the intelligence gathered in the past by its covert network remained. Thus, Ding Hui knew a great deal about the Xiantian Experts under Liu Yin.
Ling Kongyu was from Yangchuan Prefecture. He had broken through to Xiantian before Xiang Yang, yet his potential was not high—far beyond comparison with a genius martial artist like Xiang Yang. Thus, Xiang Yang had cultivated his Primordial Spirit, while Ling Kongyu had not even reached the stage of manifesting his spirit as a shadow.
Therefore, in Ding Hui's eyes, Liu Yin was clearly intending to go easy in this battle, which was why he had taken the initiative to ask Qi Renhong to fight.
After all, whether in years of cultivation, realm, or martial arts learned, Qi Renhong held the advantage.
Qi Renhong, however, did not let down his guard. Anyone who could enter Xiantian was at least outstanding in some regard. He was an old hand in the martial world and had seen too many people, flush with success, capsize in a gutter. Naturally, he would not underestimate his opponent.
With the two chosen for the first bout, the Xiantian Experts beside Liu Yin showed little interest.
