Hyuga Hiashi's voice thundered through the room.

The sheer volume rattled the wind chimes hanging from the ceiling, making them clink and clatter.

Roman snapped out of his daze and realized that the Hyuga Hiashi before him was already furious. He shot a helpless glance at Hinata and communicated through their mental link:

I told you, bringing me over to sleep together was risky. Look at how Old Man Hiashi is staring at me—like a lion about to pounce, ready to devour me.

Hinata caught his thoughts, shrugged, and replied through the same link:

Don't panic!

My father probably just found out that you came over early this morning to play with me, and while playing, you climbed into my bed.

He hasn't discovered the truth—that you came back with me last night and we slept together.

Otherwise, knowing him, he wouldn't just be angry.

Roman: So you're saying we should be grateful he didn't find out I spent the night in your room?

Hinata Hyuga: Even if he did, it wouldn't be a big deal. We were just together last night—we didn't do anything, right?

Roman: ...

Standing at the entrance to Hinata's bedroom, Hyuga Hiashi watched as Roman not only refused to get out of bed but kept exchanging glances with Hinata. His anger flared even hotter. He strode over, reaching out a hand to grab Roman and drag him off the mattress.

"Stop, Father."

Hinata moved swiftly, blocking Hiashi's grab with her hand and speaking up: "You shouldn't blame Roman. Blame me if you must. I asked him to come up and help me get dressed."

"Just helping you get dressed?" Hyuga Hiashi let out a cold laugh. "If it was just helping you get dressed, then why is half of Roman's body under the covers?"

Hinata: "I was being lazy and didn't want to get up, so I invited Roman into bed to tell me jokes."

Hyuga Hiashi's forehead veins bulged. "Just telling jokes?"

"Yes." Hinata Hyuga nodded calmly. "After all, at our age, there's nothing 'adult' we could actually do even if we wanted to."

"..."

Hyuga Hiashi fell silent.

He hadn't expected his own daughter to be so mature—already aware of what went on between adults.

But then again, if she weren't this mature, she wouldn't have taken in some pretty-faced little boy as her kept man at such a young age.

With that thought, Hyuga Hiashi shot Roman a fierce glare.

Roman, however, couldn't care less about the dirty looks. Ever since he'd entered the Hyuga Estate yesterday, he'd been on the receiving end of Old Man Hiashi's Byakugan glares dozens of times. He was used to it by now.

Seeing Roman's utter indifference only made Hiashi angrier. The veins on his forehead bulged even more, and his glare grew sharper with fury.

That hostile gaze drew Hinata's protective instincts. She reached out and shielded Roman behind her, saying, "Father, don't look at Roman like that. Please be kinder to him—he's very important to me."

"Hmph."

Hearing this only stoked Hiashi's rage further. He let out a cold snort, turned around, and walked away, his voice icy as he said, "Today, you're going to the main family's secret chamber to learn more advanced ninjutsu. Don't forget."

With those words, Hyuga Hiashi's figure vanished from the room.

Only after Hiashi's silhouette disappeared did Roman shoot Hinata an admiring look:

"It would be the worst kind. First, Old Man Hiashi, who already can't stand me, wouldn't treat me as a Hyuga son-in-law—he'd brand me with the Caged Bird Seal and take complete control over me!

"Then Danzo and Orochimaru, those two shady bastards, would catch wind of it and come sniffing around. They'd run human experiments on me to figure out how an ordinary person like me stole the Hyuga Clan's Kekkei Genkai—the Byakugan—and try to replicate the results on others!"

Hinata Hyuga mimicked Roman, rubbing her own delicate, still-developing little round face. "Isn't that a bit too paranoid?"

"No, at least not for Danzo and Orochimaru. And I'm sure the Hyuga Clan isn't a united front—there are definitely Root or Anbu agents among them."

Roman paused, then added, "So I won't reveal my power in front of others. At least not until I become a force stronger than the Hokage.

"And with you, me, and the Soul Resonance of the other Roman reincarnations in the Chaos Hall, it won't take long for us to become ninja on par with—or even surpassing—the Hokage.

"For now, while I'm staying with the Hyuga Clan, I'll keep channeling all my Chakra through you... to prevent anyone from finding out that I'm not just some ordinary person."
