A camp of the Dark Elf Alliance.
Night.
Rustling sounds rose from the darkness, drawing nearer and nearer, as if countless insects were crawling across the ground. The Dark Alliance Army soldiers on watch looked toward the source.
A shadow suddenly leaped out of the darkness and landed directly on the face of a soldier who had poked his head out to investigate. It was a creature with a long tail, like a scorpion. After pouncing onto the soldier's face, its long tail drilled straight into the man's open, screaming mouth. Very quickly, the soldier tore the scorpion-like creature from his face.
But that was only the beginning.
Countless shadows darted out of the darkness, each hunting for a host within the camp.
The camp erupted into chaos.
"What is this?"
"Why wasn't there any warning?"
"Ugh..."
The disturbance caused by the strange creatures was quickly suppressed. Broken monster corpses littered the camp. The camp administrator stepped forward, his expression dark as he looked at the bodies covering the ground.
"Their energy readings are extremely low. They were classified as harmless, non-threatening creatures, so the alarm system didn't activate," explained a Dark Elf responsible for the camp's security system beside him.
"They really don't seem threatening." The administrator's grim expression eased slightly as he looked at the unharmed soldiers. Judging from the scene, these insects truly did not seem particularly lethal. They had not even taken a single soldier's life.
"Perhaps our camp was built near their nest, and they mistook us for prey and invaders," the security Dark Elf speculated.
"Are there creatures like this here?" The administrator felt a faint unease stir within him.
"Who knows? No one knows how many species exist across the Nine Realms. Harmless insects like these have even wider distributions and more
