"Fine, call it excessive worry. But you have to understand, I've spent my entire life guarding against every possible accident. I always want to nip them in the bud, or deal with them before they can inflict greater harm on this world." Nick's face was utterly serious. "I trust that Luke knows his limits, but there are always accidents, aren't there? Like the previous invasion by that Dark Lord..."

"That was part of the plan," Strange explained. "In fact, I only learned afterward that my teacher, the Ancient One Mage, had quietly upgraded the entire barrier. She also had backups. According to her, with New Energy supporting it, she could rebuild the barrier at any time and drive the lord of the Dark Dimension back out. I suspect she wanted to give the Sanctum Sanctorum a major overhaul."
