"How did you escape from that place?"
Thanos's towering figure stood before Nebula and the others. He ignored the unfamiliar faces and merely looked at Nebula as he asked.
Nebula, brought before Thanos, had still been considering how to escape when his question caught her off guard. She looked up at him in confusion, rapidly searching through her memories.
"Have you lost your memories?" Thanos frowned. Then, without waiting for Nebula to answer, he turned and said, "Come with me. I need to examine your memories."
"Wait, examine her memories?" Seeing Thanos standing with his back defenselessly exposed to them, Star-Lord could not help drawing his devastating firearm.
"I know you, Star-Lord. A rather famous Ravager." Thanos turned to glance at Star-Lord, who was aiming his gun at him. He gestured toward the nearby soldiers who had likewise raised their weapons at Star-Lord's group, his expression utterly calm.
"Should I be honored?" Star-Lord hesitated, wondering whether he should pull the trigger. Their situation was hardly favorable—they were surrounded.
"Or perhaps you should feel unfortunate." Thanos spoke pointedly. "As a survivor who escaped Knowhere alive, I'm surprised you still dared to come near this region. Is there something inside you couldn't bear to leave behind? Also, where is my daughter Gamora? She should have escaped Knowhere with you."
"You dare mention Gamora?" The thread of Star-Lord's sanity nearly snapped.
"What happened in Knowhere? Didn't the Power Stone fall into Ronan's hands?" Nebula keenly seized on the information in Thanos's words. Searching through every record concerning Knowhere in her mind, she assumed Thanos wanted to know the Power Stone's whereabouts.
"Who told you the Power Stone fell into Ronan's hands?" Thanos narrowed his eyes at once and turned his gaze toward his daughter.
