"Didn't Thor already kill him?" Natasha thought of a terrifying possibility.
"It's the Thanos from Luke's Universe!" Dr. Banner said, his heart twisting as he voiced the dreadful guess Natasha had thought of.
"Rhodey and Star-Lord haven't come back. Damn it! I knew it!" Rocket took the weapon from his back into his hands. He hadn't been sitting idle lately; he'd taken out a loan to use Luke's Laboratory to upgrade his weapons.
Everyone's hearts sank again. With Thanos appearing before them, Star-Lord and the others who had gone looking for the Soul Stone and the Power Stone had likely fallen into his hands.
"You should have obtained the Cosmic Stones, right? Hand them over to me!" Thanos planted Tyrant's Blade into the ground and held out his hand toward Stark and the others.
"You think that's possible?" The Nanoparticles on Stark's chest flowed like liquid metal, covering his entire body in an instant. Weathered Thor's body crackled with strands of blazing electricity, and the blade of Stormbreaker pointed toward Thanos.
"Not even for the sake of your companions?" Thanos tossed out the fleet he had brought over after shrinking it with Pym Particles. Before everyone's eyes, he used a Projection Orb to display Star-Lord and the others being held captive.
"One Stone for one life." Watching the ever-changing, conflicted expressions on Dr. Banner and the others' faces, Thanos curled his lips into a faint smile and stated his terms.
"This doesn't sound like the Thanos I know." Dr. Banner gave a bitter smile and shrugged. "That's an utterly despicable tactic."
"Then perhaps you don't know me well enough. I don't know what kind of man I am in this universe, but I have always been willing to use dishonorable means if they help me achieve my goal. Let me
