Just as they had ten thousand years ago, their majestic energies bypassed the Defense Mechanism of the barrier and opened a Spatial Wormhole within it, leading to an unknown region.
This enormous disturbance was like adding a ladleful of oil to a frying pan—it instantly exploded with crackling chaos.
The Guardian Dragons and Night Elves reacted as though their PTSD had been triggered, almost instantly noticing this familiar yet unfamiliar disturbance.

Watching the shadowy pillar rise into the sky, the Guardian Dragons and Night Elves immediately thought of the Old God sealed beneath them.
Yet when they reached the Place of Sealing, they found not an awakened Old God, but a peculiar energy activation device. As for the Old God they had expected, there was no trace of it.
With no time to think further, the device that had unleashed that immense, unsettling pillar of Shadow Energy immediately became the focus of the Night Elves and dragons.
Arrows flew, while Nature Magic formed from the power of nature blasted toward it. Yet before they could reach the device, they were stopped by an invisible Shadow Barrier.
No matter what methods they used to attack, the barrier remained utterly unmoved, continuously protecting the device.

Seeing the golden pillar of light rising from the Cathedral of Holy Light, Stratholme's residents emerged from their homes one after another. Watching the ever-expanding beam, they prayed devoutly.
Archbishop Alonsus, Uther, and the other paladins and priests working in the cathedral realized almost immediately that Holy Light Energy had erupted into activity.
