"What do we do now?" Nick cautiously fired several energy attacks from his ring, but when they struck the five monsters pursuing them from behind, it was like a breeze passing over them. They did not even slow down or pause for an instant.

Unwilling to give up, Nick changed tactics. He shaped the energy into ropes and looped them around the foremost black monster, but the instant the energy touched its body, it vanished into nothingness. Nick took a step back, his expression turning ugly.

"It swallowed my energy." Nick did not want to believe it, but the facts kept reminding him otherwise. Now he understood Stephen's headache.

"What else can we do? Can we even get away? It would be nice if Dr. Banner were here. Maybe he and Hulk could do something. Perhaps these monsters are afraid of purely physical attacks?" Stephen spread his hands, and two red fan-shaped shields appeared in them.

Raggadorr's Rings.

He had not used this spell in quite some time.

"You're going to fight those things at close range?" Nick was no longer a complete novice when it came to mysticism. Though he could not use magic himself, he had dealt with Kamar-Taj's mages often enough to understand some of the combat methods within its Magic System. Seeing the familiar fan-shaped rings in Stephen's hands, his eyes widened. Doctor Strange had gone completely mad.

Those black monsters clearly could only unleash their true lethality at close range. Their safest choice should have been to stay far away and put enough distance between themselves and the creatures, even if that meant kiting them. No matter what, getting close enough to fight them was far too risky.

"I'm just testing them out." Doctor Strange waved both hands, and several magical duplicates appeared around him.
