"What is this?" Blonsky stared at the enormous metal construct before him, his eyes blazing with fervor. No one could refuse a big guy like this, especially someone who loved war and combat!
"Titan." General Ross was very satisfied with the fire in Blonsky's eyes. "I went to considerable trouble, calling in countless favors and spending a great deal of money, just to snatch it from the person in charge of a certain organization. This is the only one! Do you know about the battle at Stark Industries a few months ago? Three of these things nearly destroyed everything."
"A Stark Industries product?" Blonsky's eyes lit up. It had to be said that although Stark Industries had gradually withdrawn from the arms business, its weapons were still soldiers' favorites.
"That isn't your concern." General Ross frowned. He stepped forward, reached out, and gently stroked the cold metal body. "To get it, I spent over 800 million USD. It is now the trump card in our hands!"
"You want to use it against that monster?" Blonsky asked.
"I maintain that a soldier's own strength is the proper path, but that doesn't prevent me from using other weapons to achieve my goals." General Ross patted Titan's thick metal leg. "I'd also like to know whether this metal giant can catch Hulk."
"Who do you want to control it?" Blonsky also stepped closer and slowly stroked Iron Titan's cold metal body. He suddenly felt that this lifeless thing of metal possessed life! It would be an invincible tyrant on the battlefield! A nightmare that inspired terror! Blonsky wanted to become its controller!
That was what he had thought the moment he first saw it!
"How old are you now? Forty-five?" General Ross asked softly, crossing his arms.
"Thirty-nine," Blonsky answered.
"At your age, you can feel your strength starting to fail you, can't you? With your records, you could easily be promoted to colonel and leave the front lines."
"I am a soldier. I always will be." Blonsky's answer was even more resolute.
"You can control it." After looking Blonsky in the eyes for a long time, General Ross finally gave him the answer he wanted. "You can familiarize yourself with it during this period. Before the next mission, I hope you can control it proficiently. We do not have much time."
Iron Titan Series No. 005 ownership change. New controller: Emil Blonsky. Department: Army. Activate Lockdown Protocol?
Inside Hebron Laboratory, White Queen's notification sounded beside Luke's ear. The familiar name caught Luke's interest.
Emil Blonsky?
Abomination?
He had actually become the controller of the Iron Titan Series?
While he was interested, Nick Fury's credibility in Luke's mind had fallen below zero. Fury had once assured him that the Iron Titan Series would serve only in S.H.I.E.L.D. Did he think that if he did not use Hebron's Intelligent Control System, Hebron would have no way to conduct certain monitoring of the unit?
Knowing full well that S.H.I.E.L.D. was a giant pit, how could Luke possibly refrain from leaving a few tricks in the creations he sold? He wished S.H.I.E.L.D. would spend more money buying Hebron products. Even if they all ended up in Hydra's hands within S.H.I.E.L.D., and Hydra secretly used them against him someday, he would still enjoy the dramatic sight of their weapons misfiring, Iron Titans breaking down, or even turning on their owners.
"Grant the authorization." Luke rejected White Queen's query about activating the Lockdown Protocol. "From now on, back up and upload all of Blonsky's combat data to your Core Server."
With someone helping provide data and combat experience, what did Luke have to be dissatisfied about? He could also guess that Iron Titan 005 might face Hulk, that monstrously strong creature, someday. He wanted to know just how far a mass-produced Iron Titan could go against Hulk. The data gathered during that process would also be invaluable to Luke.
Culver University.
After General Ross once again tracked down Dr. Bruce Banner's whereabouts, he swiftly led his men to the scene. He did not alert the enemy. Instead, after making ample preparations and arrangements and surrounding the entire university, he led his men onto campus and began the search.
Having battled wits with General Ross for years, Bruce Banner quickly sensed that something was wrong after Ross led his men onto campus. In fact, if he had not been distracted by his lover, he would have noticed sooner. But with the outside sealed off so tightly, escaping now was harder than climbing to the heavens.
Worse still, some soldiers had already spotted him and begun closing in, gradually shrinking his space to maneuver and forcing him toward the encirclement outside the buildings. Several attacks nearly injured Bruce Banner, making it increasingly difficult for him to suppress the violent fury in his heart.
Seeing a massive green figure leap down from a tall building, Ross smiled at the metal giant before him. "Are you ready?"
"Of course." Emil Blonsky reached out and seized the Metal Greatsword General Ross had made for him. The enormous metal body began to run, crashing viciously into the charging Green Giant Hulk.
What kind of sight was it when a green giant standing over two meters tall, nearly three, collided with a metal giant more than three meters tall?
With its engine running at full power, Hulk actually staggered back two steps. Blonsky seized the opportunity, swung the door-sized Metal Greatsword, and brought it down heavily on Hulk's limbs.
"Roar!"
In pain, Hulk grabbed the Metal Greatsword Blonsky had swung at him. As he raised his other fist to strike, the combat-experienced Blonsky sidestepped and swept his leg, throwing Hulk off balance once more.
In the past, when the difference in strength had been overwhelming, Hulk could naturally crush all techniques with brute force. Blonsky's Combat Techniques could only save his own life. But now that Blonsky was piloting Iron Titan, with their size and strength barely able to contend with each other, Blonsky's extensive combat experience finally had some use.
Blonsky used joint locks and similar techniques as smoothly as flowing water. Though they were not especially effective, together with the surrounding soldiers, they still made Hulk suffer setback after setback.
Of course, Iron Titan under Blonsky's control was also punched flying several times during the fight. If Iron Titan's shock absorption system and material protection had not been so formidable, it might have been dismantled outright by the increasingly enraged Hulk after being knocked away. Even so, Blonsky received a string of warning alerts from the Intelligent System.
