Every member of the Yan Family stood there in stunned disbelief. For all these years, Grand Elder Yan Gao had been an invincible presence in their hearts, the guardian deity of the Yan Family.
Yet today, before everyone's eyes, the Grand Elder had been openly slain by an enemy's single sword strike.
"Catch the murderer! Catch the murderer!!!" Yan Xufan roared.
With that shout, the entire hall immediately descended into chaos. Some Yan Family members shouted about catching the murderer, while others panicked in terror. In truth, everyone knew that talk of catching the murderer was merely talk.
Someone capable of killing the Grand Elder with one sword strike could wipe out the Yan Family with a mere turn of the hand.
The entire hall was in utter chaos.
"Second Elder." Yan Xufan walked over to Second Elder Yan Shuo's side.
Second Elder Yan Shuo looked grim as he slowly said, "Elder Brother was, after all, a third-generation disciple of the Jade Sword Sect. Whoever dared kill him has provoked the Jade Sword Sect. Inform the Jade Sword Sect and let them handle it."
Yan Xufan nodded as well. "Ninety percent of the profits our Yan Family earns every century are handed over to the Jade Sword Sect. It is time for them to do something for us."
Yu Dian, Yan Gao's master, was the only Level 8 Golden Immortal among the Jade Sword Sect's second-generation disciples.
On an unnamed planet in the Blue Bay Starfield, Yu Dian was preparing to use the planet's Teleportation Array to continue onward when he suddenly sensed someone contacting him through the Communication Spirit Bead.
He took out the Communication Spirit Bead.
"Master, something terrible has happened." One of Yu Dian's disciples, Feng Shan, was sending him a message.
