"The power of the earth—"
Rogue muttered to himself.
Yes, the new trait the Spirit Candle had manifested this time was precisely the trait of earth.
And the moment he grasped this power, Rogue understood where the Spirit Candle's seemingly incomprehensible abilities had come from in the past.
For example, anchoring; absolute control over matter within its territory; and the Milestone Spirit Candles lit by the players.
These were all manifestations of the earth trait's "support and bearing."
It was precisely because the Spirit Candle possessed the earth trait that it had these abilities.
Naturally, the earth trait's inherently violent foundational power was there as well, but the Spirit Candle had little use for it.
However, compared to another question, exactly what power the earth trait brought was no longer all that important.
"Earth—ocean—"
"Aren't the traits of these two Primal Kindling contradictory?"
Rogue frowned deeply.
Judging by how the first six Primal Kindling traits had fused in pairs, the traits of earth and ocean were undoubtedly contradictory as well.
Moreover, judging from all the clues—from the Eternal Thinker and the other two Contradiction Kindling-Touchers who came after him—the Contradiction Kindling-Touchers all seemed to possess enormous innate flaws.
But—Candlefire did not have such an innate flaw.
Did that mean the earth trait was not actually contradictory to the ocean trait?
Were these two exceptions among the eight Primal Kindling?
It was not impossible.
So far, whether in the past history of the Burning Land or in the players' explorations, there was no evidence confirming whether these two Kindling traits were contradictory.
In other words, earth and ocean might be contradictory, or they might be exceptions.
And—Candlefire most likely did not belong to the secondary Kindling-Touchers. It might even be a new "third-generation" Kindling-Toucher.
Perhaps these third-generation newborn Kindling-Touchers were inherently
