The fortress was not particularly large. Its gates stood open, with two burning bonfires placed outside.
After passing through a long, narrow corridor, Mushroom saw the open-air plaza ahead.
It appeared to be a circular fortress resembling an arena.
The blood-red setting sun in the sky cast its light over the fortress, while faint flames flickered from the braziers around it.
At the very center, a black-armored knight held the hilt of a greatsword with both hands. With its back to Mushroom, it knelt on one knee and bowed its head toward the rear of the fortress, completely motionless.
