The war had not ceased.
At one end of the Eternal Plateau, Kaelitos was locked in a fierce battle with the Abyss. The aftershocks of their war continuously split the ground with cracks and tremors.
The Eternal Plateau's resilience was far greater than that of any other part of the Burning Land. Otherwise, it would likely have collapsed long ago.
Kaelitos had reached the third stage of Touching Kindling, and so had the Abyss.
The Abyss, which combined folly and chaos, seemed to have fused into a trait that contained endless depths. Terrifying monsters crawled out from within, slaughtering and destroying everything. More importantly, their emergence carried dreadful chaos that swept through the thoughts of all living beings.
Fortunately, Kaelitos was unaffected.
The two possessed chaos traits of the same origin, as well as the conflicting and contradictory traits of wisdom and folly. Their powers therefore naturally opposed and canceled each other to some extent.
Thus, barring any surprises, this would be a prolonged war of attrition.
But on the Eternal Plateau at this moment, no one could predict what would happen the next second.
Thud—thud—
Another sound of tremors came from elsewhere, gradually growing louder. Unlike the aftershocks of Kaelitos's battle with the Abyss nearby, these tremors followed a rhythm.
The players and Touching Kindling users readied themselves.
Soon, the source of those violent tremors took shape at the edge of the plateau.
It was an enormous giant standing between heaven and earth.
He carried a furnace on his shoulder and held a forging hammer in his hand. Scalding molten iron poured down as every step he took pushed aside the thick clouds. Sunlight fell around him, turning into the sunset glow of dusk.
"That's—the Dusk Giant!"
"Kindling of the Dusk Era! Damn, why is this guy here too?!"
