Ch. 526City of Radiance

Wazai explored the City of Radiance while testing the Legendary Nightmare Sweat, discovering that it could suppress Winged People but not long enough to defeat the two giant monsters. He headed toward the brightest light, climbing across the Winged People’s nests and exploring some along the way.

  • Wazai realized the two giant Winged People kept recovering their health as the Radiance and shadows restored them, so he abandoned the idea of fighting them for now.
  • Wazai activated Nightmare Sweat, which made nearby Winged People and Crowfolk bow and tremble, allowing him to kill several and wound the Four-Armed Dark Crow without resistance.
  • Nightmare Sweat wore off before Wazai could defeat the giant monsters, and they resumed fighting each other, so he continued toward the brightest light.
  • Wazai discovered that the apparent road below was hardened bird droppings and climbed onto the nests to make progress through the City of Radiance.
  • Wazai jumped between nests, fought Golden Feather Guards and undead Winged People, and entered some nests to explore and collect scattered gains.

Ch. 527Radiant Administrator

Wazai followed a mysterious voice through a shadow and emerged at the Golden Altar in the City of Radiance. He discovered that two powerful Radiance Governors guarded it and quietly backed away.

  • Wazai identified a Warm Nest Meat Worm beneath a nest and realized the Winged People raised it for food and warmth.
  • After resting, Wazai considered exploring unusual structures and asking other players about Carlos, but a familiar voice told him to touch the shadows and pass through Radiance.
  • Wazai touched a pulsing shadow and was pulled through it to the Golden Altar.
  • Wazai spotted the level 80 Radiance Governor - Head Plume and Radiance Governor - Tail Feather, two Saint of Blazing Fire bosses guarding the altar.
  • Wazai silently withdrew from the altar, careful not to attract the Governors' attention.

Ch. 528Book Palace

Wazai explored the ruins of the Book Palace, where he discovered Winged People scholars’ souls and learned that their records were stored in Feather Scrolls he could not read. He uncovered scholars’ corpses sealed inside a golden pillar and heard a voice reveal they had been imprisoned to uphold a false history.

  • Wazai realized the statue’s restorative energy also benefited the Radiant Administrators, then searched the Golden Altar for clues about the voice that had helped him.
  • Wazai followed a path behind the statue to the destroyed Book Palace, fighting through Crowfolk and Winged People as he crossed the Great Feather Transporter’s body.
  • Wazai found dead scholars’ souls repeating their obsessions and discovered that the Book Palace stored its records in Feather Scrolls he could not understand.
  • Wazai found foul pus leaking from a golden pillar and saw that it contained the corpses of Winged People scholars.
  • A mysterious voice told Wazai that the scholars had been sealed alive in the Holy Hall and forced to support a false history and knowledge.

Ch. 529Collection Lair

Wazai found a clue about the Winged People's history in the Book Palace, then discovered a route through the giant Feathered Folk statue to the Collection Lair. He explored the eerie nest and collected three valuable items whose descriptions hinted at a fearful servant and a mysterious lord.

  • Wazai heard a Crowfolk scholar's soul lament an evil king who had placed the Radiant Beings upon a divine altar, and he memorized the clue.
  • After finding nothing else in the Book Palace, Wazai searched near the Golden Altar for the Tomb of Radiance and the shadow but found no route.
  • Wazai spotted the floating nests above the city and found shadow leading into the giant Feathered Folk statue.
  • Wazai climbed through the statue and crossed into a nearby enormous nest called the Collection Lair.
  • Wazai found golden Feathered Folk statues and collected a Collection Golden Feather, a Pious Feather Faith Cloth, and a Terrified One's Bird Foot.

Ch. 530Painted Lair

Wazai explored the Painted Lair and learned from its paintings that Radiant Beings may have been reborn after the Evil King's Heir died. He continued examining the paintings, but the next one revealed no important information.

  • Wazai concluded that Radiant Beings had turned Winged People into golden statues and displayed them in the Collection Lair.
  • Wazai crossed the connecting bar to the Painted Lair by hanging beneath it after he slipped.
  • Wazai gazed at [My Birth] and saw scenes of the heirs’ deaths, the king and queen killing an heir, and the cracked Golden Egg.
  • Wazai realized that the painting linked Radiant Beings to the Evil King's Heir and suggested He had been born again after the heir died.
  • Wazai viewed [My Conquest], which showed Radiant Beings fighting and brutally executing enemies, then moved on to the next painting.

Ch. 531Regent Taimonzel

Wazai examined paintings recounting the Evil King's Heir's repeated deaths and returns, including his conflict with Taimonzel. The latest painting showed the Evil King's Heir reincarnating as Taimonzel's own son, leaving the Regent's efforts to escape him futile.

  • The Evil King's Heir tormented a Crowfolk, whose son later grew up, killed him, and fulfilled his father's revenge.
  • The Evil King's Heir returned and confronted Taimonzel, revealing that the Crowfolk had become Regent and killed him again.
  • Taimonzel succeeded the Feathered King, but the Evil King's Heir revived once more.
  • Taimonzel fathered a Crowfolk son and relaxed after confirming the child was not the Evil King's Heir.
  • Taimonzel's son shed his black feathers and transformed into the Evil King's Heir.

Ch. 532Struggle and Choice

Wazai watched Taimonzel struggle to prevent the Evil King's Heir from returning, then saw the Feathered Folk endure chaos and war under his regency. A gifted Feathered Child eventually saved the clan and called himself Radiant Beings.

  • Taimonzel tried to stop the Evil King's Heir's reincarnation by preventing the royal family from having children, but the last royal became a Golden Egg.
  • Taimonzel suppressed unrest among the Winged People and kept the royal family's secret until a rebellion prompted him to reveal the truth.
  • The Winged People chose to keep Taimonzel as regent, and he led them through the chaotic era while repeatedly killing the Evil King's Heir.
  • War devastated the Feathered Folk, leaving fewer than one in ten Winged People alive as Taimonzel grew quiet and watched the Golden Egg.
  • A talented Feathered Child fought bravely, won resources, and earned the Winged People's trust by saving their clan.
  • The child called himself Radiant Beings.

Ch. 533Radiance Era

Wazai examined paintings depicting Radiant Beings’ rise as ruler of the Feathered Folk, His partnership with Regent Taimonzel, and His eventual self-sacrifice at the Eternal Altar. The images left Wazai questioning what had changed Radiant Beings and suggested His reputation among players might improve if the account proved true.

  • Wazai viewed the painting of Radiant Beings becoming King of the Feathered Folk and ruling alongside Regent Taimonzel as their people prospered.
  • Radiant Beings performed a secret ritual that restored the aging Taimonzel’s youth, though Taimonzel responded with a complicated expression and a sigh.
  • As Radiant Beings’ influence peaked, people from the Eternal Altar sought an audience, and Wazai witnessed Radiant Beings and Taimonzel arguing before they were admitted.
  • Radiant Beings announced He would enter the Eternal Altar and burn Himself to spread Radiance throughout the Burning Land and the Endless Sea.
  • Radiant Beings cast Himself into the Eternal Altar, ushering in an era of Radiance as Taimonzel and the Crowfolk faded from history.
  • Wazai considered how the painting might affect players’ disagreements about Radiant Beings’ character and His sacrifice.

Ch. 534Radiant Beings Shine Upon All, But Not Upon Me

Wazai viewed paintings revealing that Radiant Beings had once insisted on burning himself at the Eternal Altar, but later turned cruel and mutilated Regent Taimonzel, condemning the Crowfolk as well. The paintings showed Radiant Beings’ later atrocities but did not explain what caused his transformation, leaving Wazai to continue searching.

  • Wazai examined a painting showing Taimonzel trying to stop Radiant Beings from leaving to burn himself, but Radiant Beings went anyway.
  • The painting showed Radiant Beings turn malicious, smash Taimonzel’s beak, tear off his wings, and cast him into darkness.
  • Wazai realized the Crowfolk had been punished despite committing no crime, because they were implicated by Taimonzel.
  • Wazai examined later paintings documenting Radiant Beings’ torture of the Winged People, including Black Feather Nigar and the scholars and historians in the Book Palace.
  • Wazai found that the paintings did not reveal why Radiant Beings transformed and continued examining the next paintings.

Ch. 535Radiant Beings' Nightmare

Wazai viewed a painting revealing Radiant Beings’ nightmare and learned that the Kindling God had feared being hunted and destroyed by those it once oppressed. After exploring the area, Wazai returned to check the players’ progress and shared his discoveries as they struggled to advance through the City of Radiance.

  • Wazai sensed dread in Radiant Beings’ painting and saw its nightmare of being powerless, pursued by its former victims, and crushed by a gigantic version of itself.
  • Radiant Beings awoke on its throne with Nightmare Sweat, destroyed its palace in fury, and resumed its cruelty despite its lingering fear.
  • Wazai connected the nightmare to the Nightmare Ghost Feather and its drop, then memorized the painting’s information and decided to return to rest.
  • Prison Players complained that the Nightmare Ghost Feather was difficult to defeat, while some top players reported making progress or wiping out.
  • Wazai found that the top players remained stalled at the City of Radiance, so he shared his discoveries with them.

Ch. 536Dad, Your Wife Is Really Nice

Wazai shared his discoveries about the City of Radiance, prompting Storyteller to theorize that the Regent had changed Radiant Beings and that a nightmare was involved. The players’ new information sparked a flood of debate and revised ratings for Radiant Beings, while Wazai and Storyteller continued investigating.

  • Wazai’s progress revealed clues and a route through the City of Radiance, while Li Miao admitted he had fled the two Radiant Administrators using Nightmare Sweat.
  • Storyteller analyzed Wazai’s information and suggested the Regent had changed Radiant Beings before its burning, possibly through a method connected to a nightmare.
  • Wazai’s findings spread among players and reignited discussion in Spirit Candle’s Character Rating Section.
  • Players flooded Radiant Beings’ review page with jokes and reactions to the revelation that its story had taken an unexpected turn.

Ch. 537You'd Sigh Too in His Shoes

The players pieced together the Painted Lair’s revelations about Radiant Beings and debated Regent Taimonzel’s history and the voice in the Shadow Palace. Wazai resumed exploring, found a hidden shadow teleport, and emerged from a cramped, corpse-filled space into dazzling light.

  • The Candle Scholars connected the fragmented intelligence and concluded that Radiant Beings’ evil deeds outside their revered past had ruined their reputation among the players.
  • Players discussed Regent Taimonzel’s futile struggle against Radiant Beings and debated whether his voice appeared in the Shadow Palace.
  • Wazai returned to the giant statue and tried to climb its head, but his daggers bounced off.
  • Wazai searched the area again and found an overlooked shadow teleportation area inside one of the Painted Lairs.
  • Wazai entered the shadows, woke in a cramped, pitch-black space atop a cold corpse, and punched through the obstruction into dazzling light.

Ch. 538Tomb of Radiance

Wazai explored the Tomb of Radiance, defeated the Martyr God Official, and learned that the official had secretly tried to comfort and protect the Winged People martyrs. After finding a key in the Guard Zone and opening a heavy door, Wazai was seized by a massive golden wing and dragged inside.

  • Wazai entered a vast burial chamber filled with wooden eggshell coffins and fought the Martyr God Attendants that emerged from some of them.
  • Wazai defeated the Martyr God Official and discovered from his drops that the official had supplied the Martyr Feathers and secretly made wooden carvings to spare some Winged People.
  • Wazai reached the Milestone Spirit Candle and continued into the Tomb of Radiance, exploring its Burial Zone and Guard Zone.
  • Wazai bypassed the guards to reach a locked heavy door, then returned to the Guard Zone to find its key.
  • Wazai opened the door with the key, but a massive golden wing shot out and dragged him behind it.

Ch. 539Kindling's Lingering Fire

Wazai encountered the Hunter's Eye Gate Falcon, whose Kindling's Lingering Fire let it suppress him and pluck out his eyes as a bribe. After his eyes regenerated, the falcon seized him again, leaving Wazai to choose between escaping blind and fighting it; he decided to leave in the dark.

  • Wazai examined the Hunter's Eye Gate Falcon's information and learned that Kindling's Lingering Fire empowered monsters near Kindling.
  • The Hunter's Eye Gate Falcon demanded a bribe and used its power to pluck out Wazai's eyes.
  • The falcon left Wazai alone after taking his eyes, and he used a Replenish Wax block to restore his vision.
  • The falcon grabbed Wazai again when his eyes regenerated, and Wazai realized his restored eyes had effectively undone the bribe.
  • Wazai chose to rely on his memory and escape in the dark rather than fight the falcon while blind.

Ch. 540Inside the Tomb

Wazai avoided fighting the Hunter's Eye Gate Falcon by letting it repeatedly pluck out his eyes, then explored the vast hall and found a golden staircase that likely led to the Radiant Beings’ main burial chamber. Other players shared discoveries about the tomb, including the Martyr Supervisor and a way to bribe the falcon with Carlos’s Eye.

  • Wazai rejected using Carlos’s Eye as a bribe and advanced through the dark hall, repeatedly restoring his sight while the Hunter's Eye Gate Falcon gouged out his eyes.
  • Wazai reached a hall of gates and a broad golden staircase, suspected the staircase led to the main burial chamber, and decided to find the Milestone Spirit Candle before continuing.
  • Players discussed the Burial Zone and learned from Yuanfang that the Martyr Supervisor had killed every Winged Person the Martyr God Official had spared.
  • Players discussed how to pass the Hunter's Eye Gate Falcon, and Yuanfang revealed that Carlos’s Eye could bribe it for a map, though its recovery after killing the falcon was not guaranteed.

Ch. 541Entering Radiance

Wazai climbed the stairs toward the heart of the Tomb of Radiance and entered the Gate of Radiance, determined to confront the power of the departed Kindling God. The chapter left him disappearing through the gate, while Rogue observed the players’ progress and reflected on the Kindling God’s lingering power.

  • Yuanfang told the players’ group that he had killed the Hunter's Eye Gate Falcon, then logged off to attend to something.
  • Li Miao asked about Ryan, the little lion, and Brother Yu, learning that Ryan had not returned and the little lion still feared attacking living corpses.
  • Rogue observed the top players and concluded that the Hunter's Eye Gate Falcon’s lingering fire had become a godlike trial, while Spirit Candle’s power could oppose it.
  • Wazai stood by the Milestone Spirit Candle, chose to leave the other doors for the players, and climbed the long staircase toward the Tomb of Radiance’s center.
  • Wazai lit another Milestone Spirit Candle before the Gate of Radiance, took out Carlos's Eye, and entered the gate to challenge the so-called god.

Ch. 542Remains of Radiance

Wazai found a strange shadow beneath the Divine Coffin and tore it free, causing the coffin to melt and the Tomb of Radiance to collapse. He fell through blinding light alongside the divine corpse, with no safe landing in sight.

  • Wazai examined Spirit Candle's warning and realized the unusual shadow beneath the Divine Coffin might be the way to make Radiance disappear.
  • Wazai approached the coffin and grabbed the shadow, then lost control of the Candle Spirit Physique as it violently pulled the shadow free.
  • The shadow's resistance flung Wazai away, and the Winged People carrying the coffin decayed before the golden Divine Coffin began to melt.
  • The Tomb of Radiance cracked apart and collapsed as Wazai sensed the remains of the Radiant Beings' fury.
  • Wazai fell through blinding Radiance beside the divine corpse, unable to see what lay below.

Ch. 543Radiance and Shadow (I)

Wazai fell as the City of Radiance collapsed and was attacked by the revived Remains of Radiance. Shadow rescued him from the falling city and carried him to the palace of shadows, where a familiar figure emerged.

  • Wazai spotted the collapsing City of Radiance and tried to steer himself toward a fissure while clutching the Partial Shadow of Radiance.
  • The remains revived a giant statue as the Remains of Radiance, which turned its gaze on Wazai and froze his Warfire power until Candlelight's Blessing protected him.
  • The Remains of Radiance sent Winged People, gravestone fragments, and the Radiant Administrators' beams after Wazai as the city's collapse accelerated.
  • Shadow surged from the fissures, blocked the attacks, and caught Wazai, while the Partial Shadow of Radiance merged into it.
  • Wazai found himself in the palace of shadows, where a familiar figure emerged and spoke to him.

Ch. 544Radiance and Shadow (2)

Wazai met the benevolent Radiant Beings and Regent Taimonzel, who explained how Radiant Beings’ good and evil sides became trapped in the Shadow Palace. As the Radiant Corpse attacked, Radiant Beings absorbed the surrounding shadows and prepared to fight, while Wazai was tasked with finding more shadows and balancing their power.

  • Wazai recognized Regent Taimonzel and learned that the shadow beside him was the benevolent side of Radiant Beings, the God of Kindling.
  • Taimonzel explained that Radiant Beings’ good and evil sides had been forced to confront his sins, and that the benevolent side gained control over the shadows after his death.
  • Radiant Beings told Wazai to find more shadows with Taimonzel and seek balance, then absorbed the Shadow Palace and the surrounding darkness.
  • The Radiant Corpse struck the Shadow Palace with a catastrophic flood of seawater, crushing it and sweeping away living corpses and monsters.
  • Radiant Beings spread his shadow wing to confront the Radiant Corpse, and their clash shattered the boundary between the worlds as shadow and Radiance merged.

Ch. 545Radiance and Shadow (3)

Wazai and Regent Taimonzel helped the Radiant Beings battle Radiant Corpse while searching for the shadow on its back. After Wazai tore off a large piece of it, Radiant Corpse attacked him, and the Radiant Beings shielded him as he handed the shadow over to them.

  • Wazai and Regent Taimonzel escaped the flooding Radiant Land as Radiant Corpse fought the Radiant Beings in the deep sea.
  • Wazai found the shadow on Radiant Corpse's back, while Regent Taimonzel fought off two Radiant Administrators guarding it.
  • Wazai activated Nightmare Sweat, frightening Radiant Corpse long enough for the Radiant Beings to restrain it and clear Wazai's path.
  • Wazai bit off a large piece of shadow from Radiant Corpse's back, enraging it and drawing the attention of its forces.
  • Radiant Corpse charged at Wazai, but a Radiant Being shielded him, and Wazai placed the torn shadow into its body at Regent Taimonzel's instruction.
