Resident Evil: The Final Chapter

Alicia Marcus, in the Resident Evil movie universe, is the daughter of James Marcus, one of Umbrella's founders. The latter was also the true developer of the T-Virus.

It must be said that the final installment of the Resident Evil movie series pretty much kicked all the previous lore into the gutter, but Ethan didn't care about any of that. What he cared about was that Alicia Marcus was one of Umbrella's top executives and the true 'original' of the film's protagonist, Alice.

After the Red Queen announced that she had awakened Alicia, Ethan waited quietly for Alicia's arrival.

He didn't have to wait long. Alicia, seated in an automatic wheelchair, soon appeared before everyone. However, her appearance caused everyone to shift their gaze to Alice.

What followed was another lengthy explanation. Alicia had no dissatisfaction with Ethan and the others' arrival; in fact, she was quite happy about it.

And as she explained, everyone present finally understood Umbrella's specific plan, the origins of the T-Virus, and all the other causes and effects.

At the same time, Alice also learned her 'identity'.

"I'm a clone?"

She had never thought about this question before. Although she couldn't remember many things, she thought it was a side effect of the anesthetic that hadn't completely worn off, and perhaps her memories would slowly return after a while.

She never expected to learn here that she had no childhood memories at all.

Earlier, Alicia had recounted the origin of the T-Virus: Her father developed this virus with significant side effects to treat his daughter's progeria, and was then killed by Doctor Isaacs in collaboration with Albert Wesker.

Subsequently, Doctor Isaacs proposed the human cleansing plan, which Umbrella had been slowly planning and gradually implementing over the years.

Today, the plan was officially launched, but they absolutely could not have imagined that Ethan's intervention would disrupt everything.

"However, the T-Virus is now a real threat to this world, so we have to stop all of this." Ethan stared at Alicia. "Do you know where the Antidote that can kill all viruses worldwide is located?"

Alicia had been very curious about Ethan. She didn't know this young man at all and was certain he wasn't an Umbrella insider.

But this young man seemed to know all of Umbrella's plans. Earlier, when she was awakened by the Red Queen, she didn't appear here directly. Instead, she was watching everything the Red Queen had recorded about Ethan's actions.

Naturally, everything Ethan had said and revealed was seen and heard by Alicia. Combined with the information the Red Queen had specifically gathered about Ethan's activities in Raccoon City during this time, this mysterious young man seemed to appear out of nowhere and was clearly heading straight for The Hive—he had been targeting the base beneath The Hive from the very beginning.

"That thing is being kept by Doctor Isaacs. He hasn't given anyone access to it, not even me."

"So, we need to wake up Doctor Isaacs?" Ethan frowned. "And we also need to be wary of him going all out and trying to take us down with him."

"Leave that to us. We'll make him regret still being alive in this world."

The mercenaries readily took on this task. In fact, they had done countless similar jobs. The only tricky part was that Doctor Isaacs had higher control over the Red Queen. If they couldn't resolve the Red Queen issue, everyone in the base could be discreetly killed by this 'naughty little girl' at any moment.

"Then there's no other way. Tell me where the Red Queen's main control room is."

"That's right. If we can't resolve it amicably, then we'll destroy it."

"Wait." Alicia stopped Ethan. "If we destroy the Red Queen, we might face endless retaliation from Umbrella."

James, who was originally preparing to go with Ethan to blow up the Red Queen's main control room, also stopped upon hearing this.

That's right, they were preventing a disaster that could destroy the world, but they couldn't ignore another point: the behemoth that is Umbrella was still intact, and it was controlled by a group of clones who were completely unaware of the actual situation.

Their current actions were essentially putting them in opposition to Umbrella: they would be hunted down as enemies who had discovered the corporation's biggest secret.

If they kept the Red Queen's main control room intact, perhaps they could avoid this situation? Not to mention having Alicia, the daughter of one of the founders? The Red Queen was blown up just like that, so easily that Ethan even wondered if something was wrong.

It was Alicia who reminded him: "This base is extremely hidden. They barely considered the possibility of it being discovered."

Indeed, in the original movie, if Alicia hadn't deliberately ordered the Red Queen to leave clues for Alice, it's likely no one would have known about the massive secret base hidden beneath The Hive.

In a place considered absolutely secure, the internal defenses were naturally a bit weaker.

So, the next steps became even simpler. With the Red Queen destroyed, control of the base switched from automatic to manual. Everyone worked together to 'wake up' these arrogant Umbrella higher-ups one by one, and finally, Doctor Isaacs, the big Boss.

Doctor Isaacs put on quite a show, but unfortunately, in the face of the violent soldiers, all his airs were useless. He was beaten into doubting his own existence in minutes.

The others were much the same. These people, used to living in luxury, simply couldn't withstand the various tactics the mercenaries used.

Not only did they get the crucial T-Virus Antidote, but they also got an unexpected bonus: these higher-ups weren't all fools. After the apocalypse plan was completed and they emerged, they would naturally need to reclaim their identities and even avoid accidentally waking up early. Therefore, many of them had prepared some control methods on their clones.

"Alright, with these 'hostages,' I believe your safety will be somewhat guaranteed."

In the following days, everyone hid in the underground secret base. The awakened higher-ups began using their hidden methods to restore their identities, 'replacing' their clones. Then they returned to Umbrella to continue being social elites.

The mercenaries who had reached an 'agreement' with the higher-ups also left one after another, and the underground base gradually became empty.

As for whether these higher-ups would seek revenge afterward? That was hard to say. But by then, Ethan would definitely have left and wouldn't be concerned about such things.

During these days, he hid alone in a separate laboratory, constantly researching the T-Virus Stock Solution and the Ultimate Potion that could eliminate the T-Virus worldwide.

It wasn't until a full month later that Ethan emerged from that laboratory. Only Alicia, Alice, and Arthur were left in the base. At this point, there were only a few days left before he would leave this world.

His emergence this time was to bring a complete end to his trip to the Resident Evil world.
