"Of course."
Hermione narrowed her eyes at Yinsen. She could sense some hesitation in his words, so she pressed on.
"Since you consider me a friend, shouldn't there be fewer secrets between us?"
"What do you want to know?"
Yinsen knew Hermione had begun to doubt his identity.
"Are you really from an ordinary family?"
"No."
Yinsen readily admitted that he was far from ordinary. He had only used a false identity to get into Hogwarts. At most, he had kept up the act for half a year before doing whatever he pleased, never caring whether anyone discovered his true identity.
The reason he had not told Hermione and the others was simple: they had never asked.
Hermione opened her mouth, unable to understand why Yinsen had concealed his identity to enter Hogwarts.
"Does Professor Dumbledore know?"
Still, she quickly seized on the important point.
"Of course he does."
Hearing that, Hermione relaxed slightly. Dumbledore knowing Yinsen's identity proved that Yinsen and the others were not bad people—but it did not truly prove anything, since this was all coming from Yinsen. What if he was lying to her?
Should she believe him or not? Hermione decided to believe Yinsen for now.
Just as she had said before, she considered Yinsen a friend. Deep down, she was willing to believe what he said.
"So, who exactly are you?"
At last, she asked the question she had long wanted to ask.
Considering that Miss Know-it-all was always buried in books and knew quite a bit about every aspect of the Wizarding World, she had already realized that Yinsen's identity could not be simple.
Being able to defeat a dragon so easily was something many adult wizards could not manage. She had even suspected that Yinsen had used some potion to disguise himself
