Yinsen had lived a very regular life, teaching Thea magic every day, occasionally sending a clone to spar with her in actual combat, and sometimes mocking certain things Oliver did. In the blink of an eye, he had already spent a year in this world.

A great many things had happened during that year—for Oliver, at least.

For instance, Oliver had uncovered the true identity of his greatest enemy, the Dark Archer, or rather, the Dark Archer: Malcolm Merlin, the father of his best friend, Tommy Merlin.

And the Dark Archer's plan had actually been to destroy Star City's impoverished district.

In the end, Oliver had barely managed to stop Malcolm Merlin's plan. Star City's impoverished district had not been destroyed, but it had still suffered considerable damage. More importantly, his best friend Tommy had died in the disaster.

The mastermind, Malcolm Merlin, had also died—or so Oliver believed. In truth, the Dark Archer, Malcolm Merlin, had used the opportunity to escape Star City. It seemed that everything had finally come to an end.

On top of that, his mother had divorced his stepfather Walter. Moira was facing prison time for her involvement in Malcolm Merlin's mad plan. Oliver had found his life becoming a complete mess, and many things should never have turned out this way.
