Arthur's Return

The Coronation Ceremony was dull and tedious. Yinsen noticed that many people at the ceremony were quite unhappy with Mordred, this "suddenly appeared" heir.

"Looks like Mordred will have plenty of fun once she becomes Your Majesty."

"That will be her problem. I hope she enjoys all of it."

"That doesn't sound like a very responsible father."

He turned to look at the blond young man beside him. That familiar face gave him the illusion that he was still struggling to survive on that "not-so-large" ocean.

After Yinsen brought Mordred over, Arthur immediately began preparing for her succession. Since it had long been decided that this day would come, the preparations had begun years ago. With Arthur overseeing everything, it all went smoothly.

Nearly a month after Mordred returned to this world, the Coronation Ceremony was officially held. The Venus crew specifically came over to watch Mordred's coronation, followed shortly by the announcement that "Previous King Arthur had succumbed to a grave illness."

That was the public explanation. In reality, Arthur had taken the medicine jointly provided by Yinsen and Merlin, restoring him to the prime of his life.

"I truly wasn't a responsible father."

Thinking carefully about it, he had spent his entire life working to forge a powerful nation. He had never truly cared for or guided Mordred.

Back then, he had believed that arranging everything for Mordred and finding her an outstanding mentor meant he had fulfilled his duties as a father.

Only after setting everything down and looking back did he realize that he was no different from his "original" self. He had not cared enough about his own child.
