Yinsen wanted to get a clear look at what that staircase actually was, or what lay at its end, but aside from the stairs stretching endlessly beyond sight, he could see nothing.
"Tower to Heaven, Tower of Babel, call it whatever you like. It is merely a place that allows you to rise to a higher level... nothing more."

Yinsen turned to look at the old man beside him. He wanted to ask something, only to realize that he did not even know what to call him.
"It seems not having a name makes you uncomfortable. In that case, just call me Eugene."
Yinsen glanced at the old man. The name seemed to have been made up on the spot, but it did not matter.
"What do you mean by letting me rise to a higher level?"
Was this not supposed to be an arena where he and Abraham fought to the death? Yinsen realized that Abraham had vanished at some point, leaving only himself and Eugene here.
