Shunsui Kyoraku looked at Yinsen in astonishment. As far as he remembered, Yinsen and Kaien Shiba had not been particularly close. Was he actually willing to act for Kaien Shiba's sake?
What he found even harder to believe was that line: "I can bring Kaien Shiba back!" What did that mean? Could Yinsen revive the dead?
"Kaien Shiba's situation is somewhat special, which is why there is hope. If he had dissolved directly into the most basic spirit particles like other Soul Reapers after death, then there would be nothing I could do."
If someone had vanished completely, there would not even be a clue as to how to save them. And Soul Reapers were Spirit Bodies to begin with, unlike ordinary people, whose souls could still be found after death.
Kaien Shiba's circumstances were different. He had not died and dispersed—he had been devoured! In other words, part of Kaien Shiba's Spirit Body was still alive inside this Arrancar.
"Are you confident?"
"Who knows? Trying won't hurt anything."
Yinsen was actually quite confident. He did not think reviving Kaien Shiba would be difficult, but as a low-key(?) person, he decided it would be better to be modest.
"What are you going to do?"
Shunsui Kyoraku sheathed his Zanpakuto again and turned to watch Yinsen raise a hand and pull a Zanpakuto from "thin air." This guy's Zanpakuto was becoming increasingly bizarre. He was certain Yinsen had not merely made the sword invisible; he had truly pulled it out from some unknown place.
"Kaien Shiba's Spirit Body is quite intact. I just need to separate it from this Arrancar's body."
"But this guy probably won't obediently let you pull out the person he swallowed, will he?"
"That isn't his decision to make."
