Background

Kushina was a sealing prodigy of the Uzumaki Clan and was selected as the Nine-Tails Jinchūriki before the destruction of Whirlpool Hidden Village. During the clan’s fall, Cloud and Mist forces targeted the Uzumaki for their sealing arts, while Danzo’s team waited outside the village specifically to take Kushina into Konoha. 10 177

The destruction of her clan also devastated the allied Senju Clan, leaving Kushina living in the increasingly desolate Senju Clan Grounds. The loss left her with lasting resentment toward Konoha’s limited response to Whirlpool’s plea for aid. 10 11
