After wreaking havoc in Bastion and making off with the Firstborn, he had ridden this thing across the in-between realm to reach his third foothold in the Shadowlands.

The reason he had taken a Broker ship was, first, that counting the Eternal Arbiter he had shut down, there were already two Eternal Ones who had "died" by his hand.

It was not that he feared danger. At his current strength, he could strut sideways even if thrown into The Maw. He was mainly afraid of wasting time. The material world was still waiting for Vigilant to make his "return of the king" amid the war.
