I answered aloud, but none of it reached my brain. Pale pink, rounded fingernails danced cheerfully before my eyes, reflecting the fluorescent light as I squinted at them.

But a floral scent drifted from that direction, and my body froze. Glancing sideways, I saw Yuihama tilting her head as she studied the sheet of paper. The rustle of clothing and the sensation through our uniforms kept me from moving, while footsteps approached from close behind.
