"Then let me see the power of the witch from legend."
Mo Shuying stood atop the sword's hilt like a lone sword immortal. He raised his right hand, fingers together like a blade, and countless swords erupted from the ground around him!
Their sharp points aimed at Medea, then plummeted at high speed with a sweep of Mo Shuying's hand.
Though they looked like swords, their impact upon landing rivaled artillery shells. Medea immediately spread her bat-wing cloak and took flight to evade the attacks.
"Damn it!"
Medea had known all along that after leaving Ryuudou Temple, her strength would be greatly weakened. Both the power of her magecraft and the amount of mana she possessed had dropped considerably.
After dodging a descending sword, she turned and counterattacked! Medea possessed the skill High-Speed Divine Words, allowing her to chant spells rapidly and achieve nearly instantaneous casting. With a lift of her staff, she fired a fierce barrage of Magic Cannons!
Boom!
The magic cannon was imposing, but Mo Shuying did not care in the slightest.
"Is that all?"
Mo Shuying did not dodge at all. Two swords crossed before him and blocked the magic cannon. He reached out and grabbed one of them—a silver-white longsword. The instant mana poured into it, a colossal blade of light dozens of meters long extended from it! He swung the sword, and the sword light swept through the surroundings!
"This is—!"
Medea hurriedly consumed a great deal of mana to teleport away. That strike had been too fast; if she had not done so, she might have died on the spot!
"Revolving Sword of Victory. Not bad."
After that strike, the longsword in Mo Shuying's hand shattered inch by inch. After all, it was a fake. Not only was its rank one level below the original, but its durability was far inferior as well.
But that was fine. These weapons had already left their imprints upon this world. Even if Mo Shuying did nothing, they would automatically recover before long. To him, they were all merely consumables.
Speaking of consumables, Mo Shuying grabbed another sword.
It was a strange black longsword. After Mo Shuying grasped it, it shrank somewhat. A longbow appeared in his other hand. He drew the bow, nocked the sword, and aimed at Medea.
"Scarlet Hound of the Red Plains, go!"
Bang!
The black sword was fired toward Medea!
Only at times like this did Mo Shuying feel like he was using Archer's Class Card.
"Magic Bullets!"
Medea swiftly flew upward to evade, waving her hand and raining countless Magic Bullets down upon Mo Shuying!
She had thought that dodging first would allow her to avoid the Scarlet Hound of the Red Plains, but she did not know that the Red Plains Hound was a Noble Phantasm with tracking capabilities! So long as the shooter remained alive, it would hit its target no matter what!
Whoosh!
The Red Plains Hound, which had been flying straight down, suddenly turned upward and pursued Medea!
"You! Bind!"
Medea lightly tapped the air with her staff, leaving behind a magecraft trap in the sky. Though the Red Plains Hound could track its target, it could not evade traps! The moment it passed through the air, the restraint activated!
Bzzz!
A ring of magical markings appeared and bound the Red Plains Hound. No matter how the demonic sword struggled, it could not break free.
Medea let out a slight sigh of relief, but the next second—
Boom!!
An enormous stone sword as massive as a mountain fell from the heavens! Carrying a vast shadow, it crashed down heavily!
Bang!!
In an instant, dust surged from the ground. Medea burst out of the cloud and flew away at high speed, still shaken. She had come within a hair's breadth of being struck by that enormous stone sword.
"Damn it! What a troublesome guy!"
Medea gritted her teeth. At this moment, she had no reason to hold back any longer. She had to go all out!
"Go! My masterpiece!"
Medea raised her hand and threw out a white sphere. It rapidly swelled in the wind, and only after it expanded did it become clear that it was a ball assembled from white bones!
Clack, clack, clack!
Once the white sphere reached its limit, an ear-piercing grinding of bones rang out. The sphere unfolded, and a pair of bone wings whipped up a gale, followed by a savage body resembling that of a giant dragon!
Roar!!
The bone beast roared, its presence overwhelming.
Medea possessed the craft needed to create Dragon Tooth Warriors. This was the strongest Dragon Tooth Warrior she had made, pieced together from the bones of countless animals!
This was not actually a bone dragon. Bone dragons were legendary mythical beasts of the realm of fantasy, something Medea could not summon. The monster before them was, at most, a gigantic lizard with an extra pair of wings.
But even a lizard was a very powerful lizard.
Roar!
The lizard roared and flew rapidly toward Mo Shuying.
With the enormous creature flying straight at him, Mo Shuying remained completely calm.
"Just a living target."
The moment his words fell—
Boom!
Another emerald-green mountain-sized sword descended from the sky! It pierced straight into the bone lizard's back, sending countless fragments of bone flying. Heavy as a mountain, the greatsword directly nailed the bone lizard to the ground.
At the same time!
Whoosh!
The Red Plains Hound suddenly broke free of its restraints! In the blink of an eye, it arrived before Medea!
Splat!
"Ah!!"
This sword pierced through Medea's shoulder blade, wounding the highly mobile spellcaster.
"You lost."
She had only been struck once, but the outcome could already be declared. If Mo Shuying wished, he could turn Medea into a pincushion in an instant.
"I lost."
Medea clutched her shoulder, her face covered in sweat. Mo Shuying snapped his fingers, and the Red Plains Hound vanished.
Watching Medea slowly descend, Mo Shuying rode his sword toward her.
As Mo Shuying approached, Medea endured the pain, gritted her teeth, and said,
"Please! I did everything myself. It has nothing to do with anyone else. If you want to kill someone, kill me. I hope my death can calm your anger. Please don't drag anyone else into this, all right?"
Medea feared that Mo Shuying would attack Souichirou Kuzuki, so she pleaded with him.
Mo Shuying frowned. Then, a red Demonic Spear appeared in his hand.
"Have you prepared yourself?"
"Yes. I am willing to bear everything."
"Can you really bear to leave like this? You will never see Souichirou Kuzuki again."
"...?"
Medea looked at Mo Shuying in confusion, unable to understand what he meant.
But then she saw Mo Shuying suddenly thrust the spear toward her!
Splat!
The spear tip pierced the ground, but it did not hit Medea.
Mo Shuying waved his hand, dispersing everything around them, and said,
"That is enough. There is no need to make it look like a final parting. I never said I was going to take your life, did I?"
Mo Shuying raised both hands and stretched lazily. Then the surrounding space began to fade away, and in the blink of an eye, the two of them had returned to the front courtyard of Ryuudou Temple.
"Medea!"
Souichirou Kuzuki was there. The moment he saw Medea appear, he immediately walked to her side. When he noticed the blood on her shoulder, he frowned. Mo Shuying clearly sensed a surge of killing intent—the killing intent of a murderer.
"Master Souichirou!"
Yet Medea threw her arms around Kuzuki. She understood that Mo Shuying would probably not kill her after all.
The feeling of surviving a disaster was truly wonderful. More importantly, she could remain with Kuzuki.
Mo Shuying watched the lovey-dovey pair, shrugged, and turned to leave.
"Our debts are settled. I hope you do not provoke me again in the future. There will not be a next time."
