"Hahahaha! Too slow, too slow!"
The red-clad Saber swung her sword in a mad barrage at Cú Chulainn, every strike aimed at a vital point! Her attacks were utterly frenzied. If she had not still been so lucid, anyone would have believed she was a Berserker!
"What a hotheaded one! Ansur!"
Cú Chulainn drew a rune one-handed. Ancient Rune Magic manifested in this era! Flames! Ferocious flames coiled out like fiery serpents, lunging to bite the girl!
But the girl dispersed the flames with a single slash. Saber was a class with Magic Resistance. Although her Magic Resistance was only B-rank, it was enough to render magecraft with fewer than three verses of chanting ineffective. In other words, Cú Chulainn was completely countered; if the battle continued, his defeat was only a matter of time.
But.
"Magic Resistance? That really is unfriendly to us Casters. But! Try this!"
Cú Chulainn had kept his left hand clenched around the Druid's Staff, continuously gathering magical energy and storing power. When that energy finally reached its limit—
"Flaming Hound's Fangs!"
"Roar!"
A surging blaze burst from the staff! Midair, the flames transformed into a massive Demonic Hound, spewing hellfire as it pounced upon the girl!
This Demonic Hound was above the level of three verses, which meant it could already hurt her.
The girl raised her sword and blocked the hound's lunge. Feeling the searing pain, she smiled.
"Now that's more like it! Hah!!"
The girl's magical energy surged wildly! Its release was terrifying to behold as she suddenly swung her sword down!
"Boom!"
Red magical energy became Sword Qi and shot forward! The flaming Demonic Hound opened its jaws and bit down on it. After two seconds of deadlock, both exploded!
A figure burst out from the scattered flames—it was the girl! Wearing heavy armor, she ignored the scorching fire and charged out! Her greatsword raised high, she laughed madly as she slashed at Cú Chulainn!
But just then!
"Swift! Sturdy!"
Bazett rushed over at incredible speed! She put on black gloves with both hands and poured vast amounts of magical energy into them, making them harder and stronger!
She Blinked in front of Cú Chulainn and punched into the greatsword! A fierce shockwave spread out, instantly shattering the walls on both sides!
"Urgh!"
A metallic taste rose in Bazett's throat, and blood seeped from the corner of her mouth. The difference in strength between a human and a Heroic Spirit was still too great. Even with magecraft enhancement, she could not withstand the force that spread through her.
"Oh? Is this your Master? Hahaha! No way, right? A Servant who needs her Master to protect her? That's absolutely hilarious."
The armored girl did not continue her attack. Resting the greatsword on her shoulder, she mocked them.
Cú Chulainn frowned and held Bazett, whose body had gone a little weak. Flames flickered in his eyes, and behind him, one burning branch after another emerged.
"Yeah! That's more like it! A real man should settle things head-on!"
The girl knew he was about to unleash his Noble Phantasm. Her helmet automatically opened, revealing her lovely face within, while she raised the greatsword with both hands! Red lightning-like magical energy seemed poised to pierce heaven and earth!
"To my beautiful father!"
The girl was about to activate her Noble Phantasm and wipe out both opponents in one blow, but Bazett's eyes lit up at the sight! She raised a hand and opened the lid of the container strapped to her back! Several mysterious spheres lay within!
Just as the two sides' greatest powers were about to collide!
"Saber, you may not use your Noble Phantasm. Withdraw."
"Hm?"
Her Master's voice reached the girl's ears, and her expression immediately turned ugly. Being told to retract her power at a moment like this was truly unbearable.
"Don't make me use a Command Seal."
However, the White-Haired Girl's voice came again. The armored girl gritted her teeth and gradually dispersed her magical energy.
"Ah~ you're lucky. I'm a little tired. Next time, I'll take your dog life."
With that, the girl put away her greatsword, turned around, and leapt away.
Cú Chulainn frowned as he watched the girl leave, unable to understand why. Victory had clearly been within reach.
Bazett, meanwhile, wore a regretful expression. Her Noble Phantasm had not gotten the chance to be used.
"Cough, cough. Are you all right, Caster?"
Bazett coughed and stood up, closing the lid of the container on her back.
Cú Chulainn also withdrew his magical energy and revealed a cheerful smile.
"Thanks to my Master, I wasn't hurt at all."
"That's good."
Bazett let out a sigh of relief. To her, Cú Chulainn was not merely her Servant, but also an elder. Though they had only spent one day together, Cú Chulainn had given her much guidance in life—well, chatterbox-like guidance.
"I'm fine, but you..."
Cú Chulainn reached out and rubbed Bazett's head, then pointed his thumb behind him. That was—
"Woooo—woooo—woooo—woooo—"
Piercing sirens rapidly drew closer. Bazett's expression changed! She had finally remembered that she—
Had broken out of prison!
"Ah!! Run, Caster!"
"Haha! All right, Master!"
As he spoke, Cú Chulainn scooped Bazett up in a princess carry. Then, with a burst of magical energy, he leapt onto a tall building and raced across the rooftops.
Mo Shuying stood some distance away, watching the scene with a smile at the corner of his lips. He had seen the battle clearly, and he knew who that armored girl was.
Mordred.
One of Great Britain's Knights of the Round Table.
King Arthur's child. Though not biologically born, she was truly King Arthur's child.
She was also the chief culprit behind the collapse of King Arthur's rule over Great Britain.
She had been killed by Artoria on Camlann Hill, but not before delivering Artoria a fatal blow.
"I never expected this one to be summoned. I wonder what it will look like when she meets Artoria. Suddenly, I'm kind of looking forward to it."
A mother-daughter battle? A father-son battle?
Either way, it was sure to be exciting.
As for Mordred's Master, Mo Shuying had not found them. They had hidden themselves well, and Mo Shuying could not sense the aura of any powerful magus nearby.
Seeing that the clash had ended, Mo Shuying prepared to leave. He jumped onto the roof of another building and was about to leap again when he suddenly saw something!
A cloaked figure stood in the shadows, where they should not have been noticed. But the instant she made her move, some of her aura leaked out and Mo Shuying detected it!
It was a jade-white hand, so this "he" should actually have been a she!
Green light shimmered in her hand! Then she fired it! Its target was the direction Cú Chulainn and Bazett had gone!
"Not good!"
Someone was launching a sneak attack!
Mo Shuying used Blink to close in instantly! In the blink of an eye, he arrived beside the mysterious person!
"Stop!"
Mo Shuying threw a merciless punch! The mysterious person was startled and hastily released a barrier!
"Bang!"
Mo Shuying's fist was blocked by a blue water mirror! Though his punch covered it in cracks, it had held after all!
"Hmph!"
Having regained her footing, the other party snorted coldly. Gray gas immediately surged up around her!
"Poison gas?"
Mo Shuying hurriedly retreated. Taking advantage of the chance, she jumped off the building and swiftly disappeared into the night.
"Damn it!"
Mo Shuying did not continue chasing her. There was still poison gas ahead, and if it was not dealt with, ordinary people might die.
He waved a hand and summoned two Swift Wolves, having them run over and inhale wildly. The monsters' nostrils were powerful indeed; they sucked the poisonous mist clean before dying and rapidly rotting away.
"What potent poison!"
Mo Shuying frowned. He turned toward the direction Cú Chulainn and Bazett had gone, took a step forward, and quickly followed!
Before long, he found them on top of a building.
"Caster! Caster! Don't die!"
