Mo Shuying was grateful that this Singularity space had everything except living creatures.
Previously, with limited time, he'd only managed to hastily make two Molotov cocktails. Now that he had time, he could whip up all the good stuff.
First up were the Molotov cocktails—these things were really useful. Mo Shuying found a supermarket, hummed a tune about "zero-cost shopping," and started pushing a cart to pick items, quickly filling it up.
This supermarket was a large one, with lights still on, and the refrigeration and air conditioning systems were running too.
Mo Shuying didn't quite understand the principle behind it. How could an incomplete, replicated space be so realistic? Was this magic?
"Oh? What's this?"
Walking along, Mo Shuying reached the outdoor sports section. There he saw a whole row of baseball bats, but that wasn't what caught his attention. What drew him in were the several entrenching tools.
"This shovel doesn't seem bad."
He grabbed one and swung it a few times. The weight was right, the feel was good. He touched the exposed edge of the blade beneath the protective cover—it was quite sharp. At about 1.2 meters in length, it looked like it would deal more damage than his metal baseball bat any day.
"A multi-functional entrenching tool, pretty complete features. Not bad, I'll take one."
Mo Shuying picked a suitable one and tossed it into the cart. He wandered a bit more, then finally sat down in the beverage section, grabbed a bottle of soda, opened it, took a sip, and started crafting equipment.
Molotov cocktails, also known as Molotov cocktails, are simple to make but powerful weapons. All you need is a bottle, some flammable liquid, and a stopper soaked in that liquid—paper or cloth will do.
Mo Shuying quickly made twenty bottles. It wasn't that he couldn't make more or lacked materials—he just couldn't carry any more.
Even these twenty were hard to transport. He loaded them onto the cart along with other items and moved them out. He was careful the whole way, since it was a cart full of dangerous goods—if one exploded, he'd be in trouble.
Fortunately, everything went smoothly. Mo Shuying placed over a dozen bottles around the crossroads where the monsters spawned, leaving a few in the cart.
Then, since there was electricity, he figured he might as well use it.
A few hours later.
"Heh, this should be about right."
Looking at the crossroads now surrounded by coils of steel wire, Mo Shuying clipped two live electrical wires onto the tangled wire. A faint spark traveled along it—the circuit was live.
Mo Shuying gulped at the faintly crackling wire, didn't dare test whether it was actually electrified, turned around, and dragged his cart into a nearby coffee shop. He sat by the window with a direct view of the crossroads. After watching for half an hour, he got bored again.
He checked the time—it was around nine in the morning. Back in his old life, he'd still be asleep at this hour. But since becoming a Servant, even the weakest one, his need for sleep seemed almost gone.
He'd stayed up all night and still felt energetic. He'd worked for hours without any fatigue. Mo Shuying deeply felt that his body was no longer human.
Just as he was sighing with melancholy, the system's voice rang in his ears.
"Ding~ Detected that the host is idle and about to enter a slacker state. System issuing daily quest.
Quest One: Explore this alternate dimension space, find the dimensional boundaries. Reward based on exploration progress."
"..."
Mo Shuying was startled by the sudden quest. His first reaction was:
"Can I skip it?"
He was bored, sure, but he really didn't want to move.
"If the host refuses to complete the daily quest, the system will disable the daily quest function. Reminder: Daily quests provide substantial items and experience."
"..."
With the system putting it that way, he had no choice. Mo Shuying reluctantly got up, walked out of the café, picked up a bicycle from the roadside, and began exploring the space.
Getting on the bike, he gave a light push with his foot and shot forward a huge distance. Mo Shuying's eyes widened in surprise—he could feel his strength had grown again.
Thinking about it, it made sense. As time passed, the effect of Gathering Storm would keep manifesting. An A++ super skill, given enough time, would definitely create a terrifying existence.
And this boost was comprehensive. Every point of attack increased his physical strength, every point of ability power grew his mental fortitude alongside it, and the increase in mana enhanced his entire body. Given enough time, all of Mo Shuying's stats would rise.
"Haha! This feels great!"
Never had he imagined riding a bicycle could be so exhilarating. Mo Shuying seemed to enjoy the feeling. Man and bike kicked up a gust of wind as they sped down the empty road. At that moment, all he lacked was a Green Dragon Crescent Blade in his hand—otherwise, he'd definitely put on a show of Riding Alone for a Thousand Miles.
Mo Shuying cycled through street after street, then stopped at the entrance of a large bridge.
Fuyuki City had only one bridge, a long river connecting to the sea that split the city in two. The bridge was a landmark of Fuyuki.
Mo Shuying stood at the bridge's entrance but didn't go further. Not because he didn't want to cross, but because there was no road ahead.
"So this is the edge?"
Before him, though he could see the majestic bridge, a transparent barrier blocked his path.
Mo Shuying got off the bike and touched the invisible obstacle. He even punched it hard—no reaction at all.
After that punch, he understood. This barrier was a chasm he couldn't cross. In that moment, Mo Shuying felt like a bird in a cage.
But he quickly shook off that thought, got back on the bike, and started riding along the barrier's edge. And that ride took most of the day.
"Finally at the end? This above should be Ryuudou Temple! Blocked off too!"
After riding for a long time, Mo Shuying arrived at the foot of a small hill. Ahead was a deep, winding path leading upward. He was certain this road led to Ryuudou Temple. Don't ask how he knew—ask the sign at the foot of the hill.
From Fuyuki Bridge to Ryuudou Temple, Mo Shuying had covered a small portion of the alternate space. The straight-line distance wasn't that far, but the barrier at the edges forced him to take many detours, so by the time he reached the foot of Ryuudou Temple's mountain, it was already dark.
Just as the sky darkened and he was about to turn back, Mo Shuying suddenly sensed a mysterious spiritual force piercing into the Singularity space's sky. But it didn't penetrate far before it was consumed and extinguished.
The moment he noticed this, Mo Shuying's soul nearly fled in terror! He didn't dare linger for a second! He pedaled away!
But soon he found the bike too slow. He got off, hoisted the bike onto his shoulder, and kept running!
