"Sean, what do we do?" Seeing that the Ashwinders were all on the verge of exploding, Charlotte began to panic as well. Along the way, she had already come to see Sean as an excellent teammate, and she instinctively asked for his opinion.
Sean's expression was grave. He had tested Protego Diabolica only a few times, and he had little confidence that it could withstand a massive explosion from every direction.
After all, his Spell Proficiency was still far too low, and his magical power was worlds apart from Grindelwald's.
His only option was Magical Creature Affinity.
But that Mysterious Person knew Parseltongue. To snakes, that talent was true superior suppression.
However, with such a huge disturbance from the Ashwinders, the other professors should have noticed by now. Following the trail, they would arrive soon, and that Mysterious Person had most likely already left!
With that thought, Sean called out to test the waters. "You bug hiding over there, are you too ugly to show your face?"
There was no response from the corner.
"Too scared to even say your name? Can I just call you an idiot?"
Still no response.
Looks like he really left...
Under everyone's strange stares, Sean wrapped his hand in his Wizarding Robes and dipped it into some of the red liquid on the floor.
He had no idea what potion it was, but it would definitely draw the Ashwinders' attention.
He lifted the scrap of cloth, and a strange musky scent rushed into his nostrils.
The Ashwinders turned their heads in unison, following his movement.
The others watched in horror. Hundreds, perhaps thousands, of Ashwinders seemed as though some mechanism had been triggered within them, their red-glowing vertical pupils fixed tightly on Sean.
More precisely, they were staring at the corner of his robe stained with red liquid.
The swollen Ashwinders grew even more unstable, but no one dared speak and interrupt Sean.
This Young Wizard with his miraculous methods was their only hope.
Seeing that his idea had worked, Sean let out a small sigh of relief. Then he retreated to the edge, making sure he could see every Ashwinder.
Sean raised his hand beside his eyes.
In an instant, Sean felt countless pairs of cold vertical pupils gazing into his own.
Then, to everyone else's astonishment, the Ashwinders' attacking postures relaxed. Several in the distance had already turned and slithered back into the shadows.
How did he do that?!
But Sean had no time to answer their questions.
Magical Creature Affinity was naturally displaying its formidable power, but Sean finally understood why merely making eye contact had such a huge effect on Magical Creatures affected by potions.
Because he was receiving their violent emotions!
A small amount of emotion was naturally something Sean could suppress on his own. But more than half the Ashwinders in the castle had gathered here, and every Ashwinder that made eye contact with him directly passed that violent emotion into him!
Quantity brought about a qualitative change. In a single instant, Sean felt his mind fill with violence and coldness. As he looked at Charlotte watching him worriedly from across the room, the urge to tear her apart rose uncontrollably in his mind.
Want to kill... Want to tear them apart... Want to crush their bones... Want... want to eat them...
"Sean, what's wrong?" Charlotte watched in terror as the boy's originally gentle, clear lake-blue eyes suddenly contracted. A ring of white appeared around the pupil of his left eye, and his entire presence abruptly turned cold and violent.
Sean gripped his wand tightly. The blue flames protecting everyone surged upward at high speed, shaking violently and unstably!
"Sean! Sean!"
"Sean! Wake up!"
"Sean..."
Sean's vision was gradually blurring, and the urge to tear everyone apart in his mind grew stronger and stronger.
"Damn it..." He dropped to one knee and covered his face forcefully.
He spoke with difficulty, his voice becoming harsh and hoarse.
"Get... out!"
"Sean?" Cedric approached worriedly, intending to help him up.
"Get out, or... I'll kill you." Sean slowly raised his head. His discolored eye was cold and merciless, while the other was filled with struggle.
Everyone felt their breathing stop for a moment. The refined Young Wizard was gone, and the person before them gave off an overwhelmingly intimidating presence.
Charlotte, who possessed some special talent, swallowed with difficulty. She had a feeling.
If they did not leave, she... would be killed!
"Leave first! Go find the professors!" she shouted.
As everyone passed through the flames, they clearly felt a burning sensation, completely different from when they had passed through before.
The Ashwinders scattered in every direction, and Charlotte and the others hurriedly ran out of the infirmary.
Then they discovered in terror that the blue firelight in the second-floor windows was becoming increasingly dazzling and unstable.
In the corridor, Sean was breathing heavily, with only a thread of clarity left in his mind.
The blue Magical Fire surged wildly because of his agitated magic. Any Ashwinder that had not slithered away turned directly to ash upon touching it, unable even to let out a scream.
In a daze, Sean started walking. He had a feeling that there was something ahead of him—something familiar.
The corridor behind Sean burned into a sea of flames as he reached its end.
There was no sign of the Mysterious Person, nor was Kettleburn there. Sean saw what had previously been hidden.
The thing emitting blue light was a flame.
A flame identical to the one produced by Sean's spell.
No, that blue flame was more solid and more ethereal.
Those descriptions clearly conflicted, yet that was exactly how it felt to Sean.
Then Sean saw a slender Ashwinder slowly crawl out from the flame, which barely flickered at all. It flicked its tongue and tried to attack Sean.
Hiss— The newborn Ashwinder turned to ash.
A flash of understanding passed through the last remnants of Sean's clarity.
When a pile of Magical Fire—any fire mixed with magical substances, such as Floo Powder—burned unchecked for too long, Ashwinders would be created.
The source of the castle incident was actually such a tiny flame...
As he thought, the violent emotion crashed viciously into Sean's mind like a fire dragon breaking free of confinement.
He dropped to one knee uncontrollably, and the flames around him came into contact with that blue fire.
A seductive voice sounded in Sean's mind.
"I can help you suppress it—"
"Come closer to me—"
"You don't want to become a beast, do you?"
"I only want to help you—"
The voice was dreamy and distant, filled with temptation.
