The two fell silent for a while. Sean was thinking, while Grindelwald waited with a smile for Sean's next question.
It did not take long before Sean, still doubtful despite his guesses, asked, "Does 'always the same' have another meaning?"
Grindelwald gave a rather undignified, sly smile. "That is something you need to understand for yourself."
Rather than getting angry at the riddle, Sean realized something—Grindelwald knew certain things, but he also knew that he could not tell Sean about them openly.
Though the old man was playful and often acted only according to his own preferences, he had never treated important matters lightly.
So he could not possibly be deliberately teasing Sean. He truly could not say it—or perhaps what he knew was incomplete as well...
But why...
Sean had encountered an unspeakable situation only once before: Grindelwald's time-travel accident. Because of the World Will, the truth of the entire matter could not be described in words. He still remembered what Dumbledore had told him: "Shh, the world will hear."
Did his other self on another Timeline belong to that same category?
Suddenly, Sean was no longer certain. He even furtively looked around—could there be another Sean Wallerup in this world?
Grindelwald saw through his doubts and reminded him with a soft laugh, "It is not what you are thinking. Hmm, it is difficult to put into words. I cannot explain it clearly either, but I know it does involve something on a deeper level. My advice to you is this: let nature take its course and follow your heart."
"Let nature take its course..." Sean mulled over the meaning of those words.
A hint of nostalgia appeared on Grindelwald's face. "There are some things I can tell you about—the other Sean Wallerup... No, there was no other one.
