From Salazar Slytherin, one of the Four Founders of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Sean learned of the so-called Hogwarts Authority.
This Authority represented complete control over Hogwarts. It was the very origin of the School of Magic.
The consciousness born from Hogwarts had spurred the consciousness of other objects within the castle. This consciousness did not represent the intelligence or emotions possessed by humans, only the "growth" of a magical existence. If he had to find an appropriate comparison, the Authority was the soul born from Hogwarts as a whole.
Completely unlike a human soul, Hogwarts' "soul" operated according to Hogwarts' rules, rather like the way the world itself functioned.
Still, that was only natural. After all, Hogwarts was one of the fallen Divine Realms, a small world once inhabited by gods.
The Four Founders had split the Hogwarts Authority into four, agreeing that whoever gathered all four portions would become Hogwarts' master—they used it to compete over whose heir was more qualified to stand at the center of the castle.
Presumably, the Four Founders had never imagined that, a thousand years later, the one to gather all four portions would be Sean, someone with little to do with any of their heirs.
Sean had currently mastered three and a half portions of the Authority. The final half of Ravenclaw's Authority was with Stephanie.
Come to think of it, Stephanie had been the first to find the Ravenclaw Chamber... But neither of them cared much about that.
Stephanie had long been prepared to give Sean the final half of the Authority, but they had kept putting it off until now.
