everyone also heard the sound of the Bright Light Armor shattering.
That mountain-like body began collapsing inch by inch. Jia Wei propped himself up with his spear and slowly rose. The Bright Light Armor on his body shattered into fragments, peeling away like porcelain and clattering to the ground.
No one had expected it.
Beneath such heavy armor lay a frail, gaunt body.

His expression was somewhat complicated. He had not expected that after six whole years of Silent Extinction beneath the icy sea, without eating... Jia Wei would be even thinner than he was!
After the Bright Light Armor fell away,
Jia Wei revealed his true face.
Bearing countless honors and Divine Edicts, many had wondered what sort of face lay beneath that armor.
Holy, sacred, solemn?

Jia Wei's face was charred black, his skin covered in scars and bloodstains. Only his eyes remained intact. Even after such a brutal battle, his gaze was still dignified and sharp.
Usually, the helmet of the Bright Light Armor revealed only that narrow slit.
Gu Shen knew where those wounds had come from.
They had been left behind in the war to subjugate the King of the Underworld.
Gu Shen had seen similar injuries earlier in Underworld Hall.
Those Judicators who had attacked the River Styx back then had all been refined into puppets by the previous King of the Underworld. Jia Wei, however, had been one of the lucky ones. He had barely escaped the River Styx and Underworld Hall during that war, yet he had been unable to escape the fate of being poisoned
