Everyone... I slept for a full day before I started writing this chapter of "Final Thoughts."
TAT, because my sleep was truly awful in the later stages of serialization. Everyone always said I updated slowly, but it really wasn't that slow. I started the book on November 26, 2021, and finished it on November 14, 2023. Bastion of Light ran for nearly two years and exceeded four million words, averaging over 6,000 words a day.
Let's throw a little confetti first. After all, it's finished—this should be something worth being happy about.
Thank you, Jing Jing. Thank you to every reader, and thank you to the Qidian platform. Panda was deeply grateful to have achieved what I have today.
A bow, a bow, three bows.
Actually, the "ending" I originally planned was not what it is now.
The original ending was not a particularly good one. When I was around one million words in, the final war I had planned was exceptionally brutal. Deep Sea's control over humanity would have been far more thorough and despairing, while the price required to defeat Deep Sea would have been even greater... Miss Chu Ling would have sacrificed herself in the Dead Sea. In that version, Deep Sea would have all its consciousness erased, while Gu Shen, having taken over the Main System, would search alone in the Mental Sea for the "fragmented memories" Chu Ling had left behind. Only after countless years would he be able to piece them together into a complete Array Box.
Why did I make such changes?
Perhaps it was because the huge backlash when I wrote about Deep Sea suppressing humanity affected me.
Or perhaps it was because I happened to see a line: "Life is already so stifling—why should the stories in novels be so stifling
