"Sorry to keep you waiting..."
Cui Zhongcheng spent over an hour on the final dozen-odd pages. By the time the sunlight had shifted, only scattered patches of residual light fell over the two of them.
The man closed the book, speaking with slight apology. "I thought your assessment... wouldn't be over until tonight at the earliest."
Dream Interpretation was the most time-consuming test.
He had not expected Gu Shen to finish it so quickly.
"You're too polite." Gu Shen hurriedly shook his head. "I've always wanted to come here and read, so I didn't feel like I'd waited long at all."
Cui Zhongcheng glanced at the books beside Gu Shen's hand.
He read very slowly, while Gu Shen was the complete opposite. Since sitting across from him, he had already finished two books.
"Electromagnetic Topology?" Cui Zhongcheng smiled. It was an old discipline that had long since been conquered, and the man who had conquered it was well-known. "Why did you pick this one? Did you just grab it at random, or are you interested in Alan Turing?"
"Actually, I'm interested in Deep Sea..."
It sounded a little arrogant, so Gu Shen quickly corrected himself. "More precisely, I'm curious about the development process behind Deep Sea. So whenever I have time, I read books related to it—miscellaneous stuff, really. I read a bit of everything."
"Then you shouldn't have picked this book. It's too outdated, and topology has little to do with Deep Sea." Cui Zhongcheng smiled. "Perhaps you should read books on cloud computing or Deep Sea language."
"Logic and algorithms are probably just the framework..." Gu Shen thought for a moment and scratched his head. "Mr. Turing once said that the true flesh and blood of technology lies in the knowledge and truths that have not been entered
