The night wind howled.
The car sped along at 120 miles per hour.
For the third time, the driver looked back. He could not see a trace of anyone in the rearview mirror, yet someone kept murmuring quietly inside the taxi.
Gu Shen was currently curled up in a corner of the cab.
"The Assessment Team's evaluation of your Transcendent Ability was wrong."
He had a stomach full of questions and had not yet had the chance to ask them before Chu Ling spoke first.
She had hit the nail on the head.
She always knew what he wanted to ask.
"One thing they got right was that there was indeed no record in the current Transcendent Ability spectrum of the power you possess. But their assessment was that it combined the two traits of 'Blazing Light' and 'Rending'... In fact, that was not the case."
The voice in his earphones said unhurriedly, "To understand your Transcendent Ability, you must first understand a concept... 'logic.'"
Gu Shen frowned. "Logic...?"
"Not 'logic' as people conventionally understand it, but 'logic' within the Transcendent realm." Chu Ling spoke slowly. "Everything has a structure. The vehicle you see now, the skyscrapers and buildings as far as your eyes can reach beyond the window, something as small as a blade of grass growing in the cracks of the wilderness, or as great as the physical forms of all living things in this world... These are all 'logic' that exists in the Transcendent realm."
Gu Shen's brow furrowed deeply.
"We can live, buildings can stand, matter can possess structure... all because their 'logic' exists." Chu Ling said lightly, "Since you know something about Alan Turing, you should be able to guess what I mean by now. 'Logic' represents order, while 'Transcendence' represents disorder."
He recalled the
