I Am Venom!
Thinking about his own Martial Soul.
Ye Qiu pushed his mooching dinner plans to the evening.
Watching Old Jack and Tang San leave, Ye Qiu happily headed back home as well.
All the way there, Ye Qiu studied his Martial Soul.
Looking at the tiny tadpole on his fingertip.
It really was small.
It was hard to imagine what use it had. No wonder Su Yuntao had judged it to be a useless Martial Soul.
The moment he got home.
Ye Qiu tried out Martial Soul Possession beside the water jar by the door.
Under Ye Qiu's gaze, the little tadpole
smeared itself over his fingertip.
Like black fibers or threads, it rapidly spread across Ye Qiu's body.
Ye Qiu could feel his entire body brimming with strength.
He looked toward the water jar.
What followed was a sharp, hoarse cry of shock.
"Holy shit—!"
Ye Qiu stared in disbelief at the 'monster' reflected in the water jar.
Its entire body was primarily black, streaked with wisps of white fibers.
Its most distinctive feature was the two white patches over its eyes.
When it spoke.
Ye Qiu could even see rows of sharp, jagged teeth in its mouth, along with a long tongue!
"You've got to be kidding me."
Ye Qiu staggered back two steps.
He touched his face, then looked at his now-muscular arms.
Of course he recognized the thing plastered over his body.
His heart began pounding wildly.
"My Martial Soul is Venom?"
His hoarse voice carried a trace of uncertainty.
Ye Qiu took a deep breath, and the smooth blackness over his head receded like a tide.
The rest of his body looked as though it were covered in a skintight leather suit.
He slowly walked toward the water jar.
"Holy shit! Holy shit, where's my—my head?! Don't mess with me, hey!"
Ye Qiu looked at his headless reflection in the water jar.
He was utterly terrified.
His hands frantically clawed at his own neck, trying to pull his head back out.
If any villager happened to pass by.
Even in broad daylight, they would surely be scared to death.
Fortunately, it was a false alarm.
Ye Qiu's head successfully grew back, blackness weaving itself into the shape of his head once more.
His face was slightly pale from the fright.
But then.
A brilliant smile spread across Ye Qiu's pallid face.
A bold guess arose in his heart!
Ye Qiu held the water jar.
Half his face began to boil and surge from within, transforming into Venom.
A hoarse voice tinged with childishness rang out.
"I get it now."
"I am Venom, right?"
As his words fell.
Ye Qiu noticed strands of spider silk hanging before him, with a small spider clinging to them.
Venom's white eyes contracted.
Ye Qiu slowly raised his hand and gently poked the spider with a finger.
"Want to give it a try?"
Gurgle!
Ye Qiu's body began to ripple, flowing toward the spider like liquid.
"Fuck! I'm dying—it's stuck, it's stuck!"
"..."
"Great! It worked!"
In the blink of an eye, three months passed.
Ye Qiu's body had grown much stronger.
After Martial Soul Possession, he could not only scale walls and rooftops, but had even woven himself a hammock.
Every now and then, he enjoyed entertaining himself.
He went wild performing barehanded brick-splitting, brick-breaking with his head, and even worked up the courage
to test his crotch with a brick!
After a round of testing, Ye Qiu was already full of confidence and anticipation for the future.
Although he had obvious weaknesses, no one else knew about them. He just needed to find a way to make up for them beforehand.
Being afraid of high temperatures was no big deal.
The sun shone brightly.
Ye Qiu simply packed up his belongings.
With the wine gourd still hanging at his waist, he followed Old Jack to Tang San's home.
People in the village with Soul Power were exceedingly rare.
Getting a work-study student slot that another village did not need was a piece of cake.
"Tang Hao, I've come to pick up Tang San as agreed."
Old Jack called out.
He led Ye Qiu into the Blacksmith Shop, where a wave of heat and a foul smell of alcohol rushed over them.
The corner was piled high with scrap metal and empty bottles and jars that had once held liquor.
"Yo, morning, Little San! And Uncle Haozi!"
Ye Qiu greeted Tang Hao and his son with a smile, then took out a piece of candy and offered it to Tang San.
"Little San, want some candy?"
"No."
Tang San shook his head, his tone somewhat better than before.
Ye Qiu shrugged helplessly.
Tang Hao, sitting at the dining table and drinking rice soup, his beard unkempt, ignored everyone.
He merely lifted his eyelids and gave Ye Qiu a faint glance. No emotion could be read from his murky eyes.
But Ye Qiu was not about to let him brush it off.
Smiling, he stepped forward and uncorked the wine gourd hanging from his waist.
"Uncle Haozi, want some wine?"
"Pour it!"
Tang Hao's hoarse, grating voice rang out as he casually dumped out the rice soup in his bowl.
He placed the empty bowl on the table.
"Sure thing!"
Ye Qiu immediately filled Tang Hao's bowl.
The wine was a clear green, mixed with a few bits of Blue Silver Grass residue.
No one bought his wine.
Only Tang Hao liked it, and that was due to a chance encounter.
Smack!
Tang Hao dipped his blackened, sour-smelling hand into the bowl, stirred it around, and dumped it out.
He slapped the "cleaned" bowl back onto the table.
Ye Qiu did not feel the slightest bit sorry for it.
He continued filling Tang Hao's bowl with his privately brewed special liquor.
"Uncle Haozi, want some more candy?"
Tang Hao took a sip of the liquor, looking somewhat intoxicated as he savored it like tea.
He looked at the colorful candies Ye Qiu held out to him.
Tang Hao glanced at him.
He gave a slight nod, then swept up every piece of candy in Ye Qiu's hand with one large grab.
The smile on Ye Qiu's face became even brighter.
He clasped his hands together and rubbed them, his large black eyes blinking with a hint of shrewdness.
"Uncle Haozi, I'm going to school. Look..."
Before Ye Qiu could finish.
Tang Hao waved his hand impatiently.
"Don't waste your breath. I have no money."
"Haha. That's fine. Little San is so capable—he'll have money in the future."
Ye Qiu was not angry either.
The liquor money Tang Hao owed was practically nothing to a soul master.
At that.
Tang San did not reply, merely looking at his slovenly old man.
"Little San, you don't need to pay for his liquor."
Tang Hao gave the order casually, tossing several candies into his mouth without even looking at Ye Qiu.
"Got it, Dad."
Tang San nodded seriously.
"What?!"
Ye Qiu's expression changed slightly.
Although the liquor was just filthy water left over from washing liquor bottles, with some Blue Silver Grass he had picked up soaked in it.
He had never forced anyone to buy it.
This was the fruit of his labor.
"Uncle Haozi, how can you do this? Aren't you two bullying an honest man?!"
Old Jack, who was helping Tang San pack his things, also noticed the commotion.
He immediately could not help speaking up.
"Tang Hao, don't go too far! You're even forcibly taking a child's things!"
"What are you making such a fuss about? I only owe a little liquor money and took a handful of candy. My mouth is so bland it's about to taste like birdshit."
Tang Hao did not even turn around.
He crunched a few grass-flavored candies, washing them down with the special grass liquor supplied just for him, chewing slightly.
His eyes revealed a look of intoxication.
As though his wife were inside them.
"It may not have much flavor, but it's clean. I brewed it myself!"
Ye Qiu frowned.
He had collected plenty of liquor bottles and even distilled it. It was absolutely clean and hygienic.
How could the dignified Clear Sky Douluo be so shameless!
Wishing everyone a happy life!
