It was as if she had broken through her limits and reached a new realm beyond the ceiling. Many people might have believed that Level 12 was the upper limit in the Duel Monsters World, and that any Level beyond it exceeded what the rules allowed and was therefore impossible.
But that was not actually the case.
Level 12, much like 5000 ATK, was merely the apparent ceiling.
Just as Five-Headed Dragon's 5000 ATK appeared to be the highest ATK that could be printed on a monster card in the entire Card Pool, version updates had gradually reduced Five-Headed Dragon into "trash not even worthy of being called a wall."
Although the Base ATK Limit was only five thousand, it was not difficult to push it beyond that through card effects and the monsters' own abilities. As long as the buffs were in place, even achieving Infinite ATK was permitted by the rules. Five thousand was only the basic limit.
The same applied to Levels. Level 12 was the highest Level that could be printed on a card, but it was not the limit permitted by the rules. With enough effects to raise a monster's Level, not to mention twelve stars—even a hundred-star king would still be recognized by the rules.
