Synchro Summon was the first new Summoning Method introduced after Yu-Gi-Oh! entered the Master Rule era. In terms of both worldbuilding and story, it also represented Duel Monsters entering an entirely new realm.

Its summoning rules were actually very simple and easy to understand. Put plainly, it was just addition within twelve.

Parallel Gear's body came apart, transforming into two green rings that encircled Malefic Stardust Dragon. Malefic Stardust's body became transparent, and the energy within it was drawn out, becoming eight connected stars.

The stars formed a line. A Light Pillar pierced the heavens, turning into a Starlight Road that descended straight to the ground. The dark dragon landed heavily, raising its head and unleashing a piercing roar that shook heaven and earth.
