Masses of black mud-like matter exploded from that twisted body, only to disappear completely in midair. But along with them came dazzling golden light, a Light Pillar soaring into the heavens before exploding into countless sparkling motes that fell like rain over both the Satellite Sector and the city.
Those were... souls.
Human souls, and most of them were still alive.
And at the instant of that eruption, with the power of the Sacred Beasts, Kira clearly saw several of the strongest light clusters released from that energy—the first few souls to burst forth.
