Judai asked.
"The Dark Power hidden within Fubuki's mask?"
That power was formidable, but it was hardly unbeatable. Whenever Fubuki put on the mask, his personality was consumed by Darkness, and he excelled at fighting with a "Red-Eyes Black Dragon" Deck. Judai knew a little about that dark alter ego's strength. By his current standards, it was actually not all that impressive.
Incidentally, every time Fubuki went dark, he made it look incredibly cool and imposing, always carrying himself like a boss with victory already in hand. Just looking at that confident expression, one might think he was some undefeated king. Yet across the entire anime, his record was somehow all losses—not a single win.
Every time Fubuki put on that tortured, solemn look, as though he had made some earth-shattering resolve before donning the mask and transforming into Darkness, the facts proved it was completely useless. He could not beat anyone.
That was probably one of the reasons Darkness, as a GX boss, came off with so little dignity.
"Yes, but that could only be considered a fragment of its power." Kira said. "The real Darkness is far stronger than that. Do you remember the Abandoned Dorm behind our academy?"
Judai nodded. "Of course."
There was no way he could forget it. Over their three years at Duel Academy, they had had no shortage of stories involving the Abandoned Dorm. It seemed that all sorts of supernatural events and Dark Forces were especially fond of that abandoned forbidden zone.
"That place used to house a student club. It was where students who explored Dark Power in the past searched for Darkness's power."
