Fudo Yusei failed?
"What nonsense are you spouting!?" Jack snapped.
Jack knew nothing about the future's destruction or Z-ONE's plans, but the few people watching through the remote live stream all stirred inwardly.
The azure eyes beneath Z-ONE's mask flickered, followed by a trace of sorrow.
"So he failed?"
Kira had roughly guessed what this meant as well.
In the dimension these copies came from, a parallel world of 5DS similar to this one, everything had likely originally unfolded just as it had in the anime he knew.
The Dark Signer Incident, the WRGP, Fudo Yusei and the others defeating the Three Polar Gods of the Astral Realm in succession, Iliaster's three Meklord Emperors, the imminent descent of the Arc Cradle, and New Domino City's hour of destruction.
According to the plot Kira knew, this should have been the point where Fudo Yusei fired up the Crimson Dragon Card Printer, pulled off a cheat-level on-the-spot print of "Shooting Quasar Dragon," and turned the tables on Z-ONE. But clearly, something had gone wrong in that parallel dimension next door.
Perhaps the Crimson Dragon Card Printer.exe had stopped responding. Or perhaps even after summoning Shooting Quasar Dragon, he had ultimately still been unable to defeat Z-ONE's Timelords. In any case, Fudo Yusei had lost in the end.
With Yusei, the savior, defeated, there was no need to elaborate on what came next. The Arc Cradle continued its descent, and New Domino City was destroyed. The prototype Perpetual Motion Machine was buried along with the entire city.
"So,"
Kira looked at Pseudo-Z-ONE beside him and asked,
"What happened in your dimension, between your original Z-ONE and Fudo Yusei?"
"Nothing."
Pseudo-Z-ONE's tone was calm, yet his voice seemed to carry a faint, barely detectable sorrow.
"With New Domino City and humanity's future at stake,
