Against the Timelord Deck

"Timelord Sandayon, attack!"

The attack of the Timelord said to be the strongest beneath the Ultimate Timelord. It raised its right fist, covered in a golden glow, and time and space itself seemed to freeze. The instant its fist came down, countless translucent golden ripples burst outward in a fan shape. Amid deafening metallic thunder, the following ripples formed a three-meter-high golden tsunami that surged toward Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier.

If this were the Physical Card Version of Timelord Sandayon, it could destroy an opponent's Monster by battle, but its battles could not inflict Battle Damage on either side. The anime version was different. Anime Sandayon would not inflict Battle Damage on its controller, but it could still deal damage to the opponent.

And that was not all. Sandayon had another key effect that earned it the title of the strongest Timelord.

"Timelord Sandayon's Monster Effect," Pseudo-Z-ONE said. "When this card battles, inflict 4000 damage directly to your opponent!" (Original effect)

It dealt a direct 4000 damage. Even in the real-world 8000 Life Point Environment, the damage from this effect had been cut down to 2000. In the anime's 4000 LP environment, that meant this Timelord could send its opponent straight to the grave with a single punch.

If a Yu-Gi-Oh! game with a 4000 LP environment released something like this with its anime effect intact, it would not merely be overpowered. It would be outright fake-card nonsense.

Only real game design needed to consider balance. The anime had never cared about such things. It was like a master in a fantasy novel cultivating peerless divine arts and becoming a grandmaster of his generation. Everyone would fear and admire him; no one in their right mind would accuse his techniques of being too overpowered and ruining the balance
