In the void-like darkness, several wisps of black mist began to writhe like living creatures, twisting around one another like snakes and gradually outlining a vague humanoid shape. Two scarlet lights suddenly flashed within the mist—Mr. T's eyes opening behind his sunglasses. As the black fog solidified, it made a sound like tightening leather, finally materializing into glossy leather clothing.

More and more Mr. Ts appeared one after another within this dark space. This was Darkness's domain, practically Mr. T's conference room.

"Ridiculous."

One Mr. T stood above, watching the duel unfolding on Academy Island through a screen.

"Synchro Monsters? What are those?"

A Mr. T beside him said, "Aren't we the only ones with power from other dimensions?"

"And Synchro—I've never even heard of such a thing. Just what is this damned Duel King—"

As he spoke, another pair of eyes seemed to light up in the depths of the darkness.

"There is no need to worry, members of Darkness." A voice echoed through the dark space.

All the Mr. Ts turned toward it in unison.

"This isn't what we agreed upon."

One Mr. T spoke grimly to the otherworldly being.

"The power of Xyz—you said it would transcend this dimension, that no one would be able to oppose it. So what was that Synchro Summon the Duel King used?"

"That was indeed somewhat unexpected. I did not anticipate it either."

The otherworldly being spoke leisurely.

"But then again, I saw that duel just now. Fujiki Kira using the power of Synchro was certainly surprising, but it seems you did not lose to Synchro, did you?"

"..."

The Mr. Ts all fell silent, seemingly unable to refute that.

Indeed. What had finished them off in the end had not been a Synchro Monster, nor had it been anything novel.
