The dim warehouse's only source of light came from an old CRT television in the corner. The blue glow of the screen formed a cone of light through the dust-filled air, illuminating the particles floating around it. Tom Cat was still chasing Jerry on tiptoe, while the comical soundtrack produced a faint echo in the empty warehouse.
The childlike Vetrix sat in his chair, as usual laughing so hard at Tom and Jerry's spirited performance that he rocked back and forth, his feet kicking wildly in midair. Rusted metal racks cast twisted shadows beneath the television's glow, while several battered cardboard boxes were piled beside the set, still marked with damp water stains. The TV antenna stood crookedly upright, occasionally emitting crackling static. Whenever Tom was blown into charcoal or flattened into a pancake, the flickering screen cast dancing silhouettes across the stained concrete walls.
Vetrix sighed, suddenly jumping down from his chair and speaking as if to himself.
"Honestly, V. He said he was going out to buy something. He's already this old and still likes lying."
As he spoke, he slowly raised his hand, releasing Crest Power from the back of it. Transparent energy opened into a spiraling vortex in midair, stars seemingly circling within it as though it led to another universe.
Vetrix had already sensed that something was wrong and was preparing to make a run for it again.
He could more or less guess what V had gone off to do. Most likely, he had tried to find his two captured brothers. But judging by the current situation, he had probably failed to rescue them and gotten himself caught as a bonus. Truly ridiculous.
